Categorized as “Juvenile Nonfiction” is underestimating the charm of this nature book! Easy-to-hold for children AND elderly hands … plus the beautiful photography on board pages captures the eye of ALL beholders! ~ ~ My son Michael bought a copy for me, smile, because he knows how much I adore my “Jackie Brown” squirrel friends ~ ~
The reader can almost hear the quiet through the trees surrounding the snowman, see “up-close” the winter birds and frisky squirrel and timid deer, and feel their appreciation for the seeds or carrots offered. Magical photography: snow crystals on Bird Cardinal’s face … separated whiskers of Mama Deer … textured and melting snow of Mr. Snowman! The accompanying words DO tell a story and appropriately enhance the images … or vice-versa … a very good blend.
