Winter Days in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder (1994, Hardcover)

I love this book. I loved the whole Little House series as a child growing up and so I was so excited to learn that they had come out with the Little House series for the younger kids. The best part about these books is that they are actually from the original books - just in a way that the younger kids will understand. As soon as I found out that they had these books - I had to buy them all for my children, even though they are not old enough to read them yet. These are sure going to become a classic like the older books are.

My children are in love the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. We read them as a family at bedtime & try to do 1 chapter per evening. But, often, we have to read the second one b/c we can't get enough. They are wonderful. We use them as a part of our homeschooling curriculum. I read them now... they will read them in a couple of years. They are also excellent for describing prairie life and family life. Challenges, discipline, music, stories, chores.... it is all described & you feel that you are there with the Ingalls family. Must read!
