I rate this movie Excellent on the miscarriage of acting scale for the sole reason of Mr. Michaels and his off-screen harassment site. Mr. Michaels, whom is now an unemployed actor, has taken up a career of which no hollywood director or casting director would touch. I have googled the unactor and am shocked at what this unactor has done even before playing the 20 second part in this movie. I am confident that if any deserving Hollywood Director were to google their cast members prior to auditions, Mr. Michaels would be on the unemployment line indefinitely.

  The Winslow Boy-Horrific acting

I bought this video for the sole purpose of seeing the much touted acting skills by the two bit, failed, unemployed actor who plays Mr. Michaels.
The movie is a complete borefest and I had to pry my eyes open like in 'A Clockwork Orange' just to get through it. Finally after about half way through, the 20-30 second bit part of Mr. Michaels appears and let me tell you, an absolute pathetic performance. Half of Mr. Michaels scene is shot away from him with his fake british accent babbling away in the background. It almost seems this failed actor bought 'Acting for Dummies', read it one night and stepped on the stage the next day. This actor also touted that David Mamet said he was one of the greatest actors around..a complete lie.
It's no wonder he doesn't act anymore and has taken up being a cyber predator. He's lucky to have a rich daddy to pay his bills so he can 'play' on the internet 24/7.

  The Winslow Boy

The old version of The Winslow Boy with Robert Donat has always been one of my favorite movies. Since I live Jeremy Northam, I thought I would give this version a try. It is very good, as well, but I could not give it an excellent ration because, unlike the original, it did not actually show the trial. Robert Donat's cross examination of the handwriting expert and his examination of Ronnie Winslow in which "the truth" about the missing minutes is revealed was great and missing in the newer version. Since it is very difficult to find a copy of the old movie, I would highly recommend this version. BUT, if you can find the 1948 black and white version, I would recommend it first.
