The Elm Creek manor books are as cozy as the quilts they inspire.
Sylvia Compson is excited by the arrivals of new quilters even though she will be losing Summer and Judy. Summer's mother Gwen, a professor and Bonnie, a newly divorced woman, who use to own a quilting shop before it was destroyed by vandals, will be their replacements. Gwen has brought with her a remarkable old quilt found in a church basement. The group will help her discover the origin.
These stories are so delightful and heartwarming. it is about true friends who remain steadfast no matter where life's path leads them.

HOOKED COMPLETELY on this seriesReview created: 10/23/08

This is part of a series of at least 12 books and once you get started with the Quilters Apprentice, you are HOOKED totally. It engages you intimately in the characters lives and challenges. You feel like you're there and you know the people as friends, not just characters in a book. Being a quilter helps but is totally NOT necessary to enjoy these books. Many a night I've been up past midnight reading one of these. I'm on 5 now and can't wait to get to #6.

Love this series
) I hope Chiverini writes more. I love the "niceness" of this series and all the characters. I look forward to reading about the new character brought in to replace the leaving ones.
I bought the books in this series to read as I recovered from cancer treatments. They are sweet books and a pleasant diversion from an otherwise unpleasant situation.
