Dieser Film ist ein Meisterstück von John Ford, und gehört in jede Westernkollektion.

It had been many years since I had seen this movie, and I was anxious to see it again. It is about a Winchester model '73 lever action rifle that is won in a shooting contest by Lin McAdam (Jimmy Stewart), and before he gets to use it, it is stolen from him and it takes the whole movie for him to get it back, as the rifle passes from one person to another. The Winchester rifle that is won is a beaut and this particular one was classified by Winchester as one in a thousand! It is Jim Stewart and Shelly Winters at their best. Cowboys, Indians, outlaws and pretty women and is extremely well done. It is a Western movie classic - westerns don't get any better than this one. And, unfortunately they don't seem to be making many westerns anymore. The movie is in black and white and this dvd picture was clear and sharp on my home tv. A keeper!!

This is an old fashion black&white western. Many big name actors get there start in this film. Rock Hudson plays an Indian cheif and a very young Tony Curtis plays one of the solders. The real star is the Winchester 73 one of one thousand. This gun is won and then lost by James Stewart and we get to see how he gets it back. Its a great old movie well worth watching.

I first saw this movie as a child. Pop corn was a dime, cokes a nickel and the double feature was 25 cents. It is a classic James Stewart Western and ranks among my all time favorites. Although it is black and white, you forget that a few minutes into the film. If you've never seen this movie you should. It is well worth the price.

This is a treasured movie from the Cowboy days. It is in the orginial black and white version I saw at the movies with my dad. Good vs bad and good wins-
Jim's sidekick does a good job. Old movies like this are extremely difficult to find. Glad someone took the time to convert to DVD.

I had bought this movie for my mom as a gift. She liked the movie. She likes western movies and she been looking for this one for a long time.

I first watched this with my dad when I was a kid. I loved it then and I love it now. It has an engaging story line and I like movies about revenge and this one really makes you think.

Husband likes this movie and you couldn't find it in the stores since it is older. He is quite happy to add this to his collection and will watch it over and over which would bore me. But as long as he is happy, I am happy. Thanks.

I had just finished reading a biography on Jimmy Stewart and I found out that this was a movie that had done very well, so I figured, why not look for it on ebay and buy it. And I did. Great sale, got it quick.

I bought the movie because i liked it,but the bad thing about it i never received it yet since Nov. I don't know what happened to the movie but it never made it to my home. So if i ever get it i will let you know. It has been paid for for over a month. Smokeyspride
