This is a fantastic book. I purchased it because I own an internet business that grows based on expansion through households (it's a home-based business). Our company recommends it, so I purchased it in order to increase our business. Dale Carnegie does a wonderful job of defining exactly how to do what the title says. The interesting thing is that, although written during the Industrial Age, many of the same principles apply to the Information Age that we are now a part of. The book is timeless and I recommend it to anyone who comes into contact with anyone else. That means everyone!

I really loved this book. The way Mr. Carnegie teaches through anecdotes is very effective and really drives the point home. I learned a lot of things about why a lot of people probably don't like me and so far, this book has had a very positive influence on my life.

One of the best all time books for improving sales and marketing skills. Dale Carnegie draws inspiration from Benjamin Franklin (of all people) who was our nations first truly gifted diplomat. Carnegie applies the lessons from Franklin's autobiography and updates, adds, and improves. This is an important reference book in my library.

Very helpful guide on how to better one's life. I have tried using most of the exampples set forth in the book and have had amazing resluts. So, I ordered a book from this company, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," which was available according to their records. After they had access to my credit card information, they sent me an email saying they actually did NOT have the book in stock and then credited the price of the book back to my account. Well, not much later, I began to get weird online charges to my credit card account to where I had to cancel my card and get a new one. I am not trying to make any connections, but....well, yes I am.

I would purchase another book from this seller. The book arrived quickly and as it was described.I needed this book for a class, so I wanted something inexpensive but still good quality. I got that from this seller.

This book was first written in the 1930s, but all of Carnegie's advice is completely applicable today. Everyone should read it at least once. Some of Carnegie's techniques seem like common sense, but it's amazing that most people don't put them to use. This book will change the way you think when dealing with anyone.

You must purchase this book! I have recently purchased several of Dale Carnegie's books and am amazed with the enormous amount of timeless wisdom he had! We all have the same skills that he writes about; but most of us allow our lives and circumstances to get in the way of applying them in our own lives! And he basically states that as well. His teachings should be taught in school to every young adult! It would indeed save the time lost in years for acquiring these wisdoms. I would even go as far to say that it would even save you personally from making foolish decisions with your own life and of course save you money! And the funny thing is that I'm only half way through the book! I originally purchased these books because I'm looking to go into sales; but it wasn't till after I started reading his book on "How To Stop Worrying and Start Living" that I realized that I have not "lived" as I should have! I've worryied my whole adult life about something! And his teachings in "How to win friends and influence people" is just as valuable! If you want to start off with any of his books I "HIGHLY" recommend these two for you to understand the kind of awesome man Dale Carnegie really was! Then I recommend you to pass those books to your friends and loved ones! I believe that Dale would want everyone "today" to benefit from his timeless teachings; and believe me you will!

This book was originally published over 70 years ago but Mr. Carnegie writes about the most powerful principles in business, money and persuasion. The examples in this book are short and real-life, making it easy to put the ideas of this book into daily practice. The book is both uplifting, while helping to make better changes in working with others. Constructive criticism is definately what this book is full of, yet you never feel bad reading it; I couldn't put it down!

Everything in this book is common sense in 2007, but I have asked myself often, was it common sense when he wrote it? And if it was, and now that it is, why don't we do it? This book will serve as a reminder to you that just doing what you know is right, is probably the best strategy.
