These clubs are my first foray into the game improvement style, as I have always played a blade or pretty close facsimile of a blade set. I still adore my ole Ram nickel irons, but I ain't gettin' any younger or stronger - so I plopped the modest sum of $130 on eBay for a NEW reg steel set of Di5 irons- I added two Hb5 hybrids (less impressive than the irons) and off I went. There is definitely less feedback off the face, and not as much workability, but I am also a good bit more accurate. I can clobber my PW about 125 or so and it lands consistently within about a 50 ft. radius..(I am NOT Tiger Woods) I guess just about anything one hits takes some getting used to - but it is kind of a thrill to go out and spank my wealthier friends and their Taylor Mades/Callaways/Pings...Yeah - maybe they just suck. But I still think too much stock is placed on the cost of equipment these days. If you are around a 12-15 handicap, you could do OK with this set (at least I am, anyway)

  Di5 EXCELLET!!!

The best clubs I've owned. I had the Hogan CFT irons before. These blow them away.
I'm hitting longer, 10yds.
I'm hitting straighter.
Very nicely made clubs, proline and confidence building when you set up. I've been waiting for this exact set.

3 years ago I decided that I wanted a new set of irons to replace my 12 year old Top Flite Tour TIs. I hit all the major brands, plus some off brands, and came down to these Wilsons, or Nike NDSs. I finally bought the Nikes.

When I got to the course, though, I discovered that I was ~10 yards shorter with those than I'd been with my previous set. I'm not the longest hitter, and who can afford to give up yardage, anyway? I sold those clubs (on eBay!) quickly, losing only a few bucks on the deal, and went back to my old set for 2 years.

This spring, I got to thinking about clubs again, and remembered these Wilsons, remembering also that when I first hit them they seemed LONG. I found a set on eBay for 80% off original retail, and figured I couldn't go wrong at that price, so bought them (3+4 hybrids, 5-PW, regular steel shaft)

What a revelation! They're (truly) 20 yards longer than the Nikes, and 10 yards longer than my old Top Flites, which were never short clubs in the first place. Hitting a 9-iron 140 yards is amazing to me, particularly when I used to expect 125 at best. They also look and feel great, and are dead-solid-straight.

Try these - they may be relatively unheralded, but they are as good or better than any of the better-known sets.

I love these new clubs. I am hit longer and straighter hybreds take a little adjustment but worth the time to figure out.

  Solid irons made by Wilson.

These will be a great addition to my collection. I bought them for my nephew and we will see how he hits them.
I took t hem out today and they felt solid and hit the ball with a bit of a high trajectory for my tastes. But for a novice I think they will make the perfect set of irons for a new golfer.

Likes: clean top line easy to align
well balanced and long
pw- 125yards,7iron - 155 yards...used to hit 9 iron, 6 iron that
distance
hard to hit this club off center with wider shaft

Dislikes: feel on mis hits
finish marks easy
factory grips

In all I love these sticks, play to a 12 handicap, these replaced callaway x-18's, only reason I switched was a 79 at a cc with a buddy's set. at first I thought it was going to be along day with sh---y clubs. Boy was I happy to find a sleeper set THATS HELPS YOU IMPROVE IMMEDIATELY

  Added 15+ yards per club
Review created: 09/07/07

I went to a local driving range to test drive a new set of irons to upgrade from my Tour Edge irons that were 15 years old and falling apart. I tried several sets, major brands (Callaway, Nike, Ping, Titleist, etc) and these Wilson's were far and away the best clubs. I hit the ball straighter and longer with the same swing. I bought a brand new 3-PW set (steel-stiff shaft) on eBay for $230 with the 3 and 4-iron being hybrids (more on that in a second). Retail was $599, by the way. Ebay rules.

On the course this summer, I went from shooting 95-100 to rounds of 84,85,86 and 87. Admittedly, I am putting better, but now I'm hitting a 9-iron from 150 rather than the 7-iron I needed to reach with my old clubs. So, I'd have to say the switch has been a success.

Hitting the 3 and 4 hybrid has been a challenge though. They are not rescue clubs (aka Magic clubs), but they do travel far when hit well. Further than a traditional 3 or 4 iron, that's for sure. Also, they are shorter than normal 3/4 irons. They are taking some time to warm up to compared to the instantaneous results I got from the rest of the set.

Hope this helps.
