Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak (1988, Paperback, Anniversary)

This is one of my favorite books. Max is bad and has to go to bed without his supper. So, he goes to where he's king--where the wild things are! The illustrations make this book extra special. You'll fall in love with Max and the wild things. The fantasy and the the lesson learned combine to make this a memorable book. It is an older book which is increasing becoming a classic! The softcover edition is great to pack in a bag and read anytime. The pictures alone keep kids interested.

Great book for Christmas gifts for grandkids. This was a boiok fav for my own kids when the were young.

I decided to buy it, because as far as I can remember is when I first read this book I fell in love with it. It had everything I would picture myself doing if you were sad or mad. I love the fact how its beyond all imagination and that is what makes it one of my favorites. But I don't know how the movie will turn out so we will have to see.

I love this book and so does all the kids.!!!!!!!! I never had this book nor heard about til I met the man I am going to marry and his kids who with family of their own remembers its well. So I read it and WOW! I love it and now I know our grand kids will remember it as well!

My son really enjoy reading this book when he was small. Pages are large with wonderful, colorful pictures. Buying it as a gift for another child was an easy decision.

This was my son's favorite book when he was little. We read it every night for a couple of years. He is 16 now and asked where the book was, and I had given it away when he lost interest. He wanted it back, so I ordered it for him, and although he is a tough guy now, 6' tall and bullet proof, he still loves his favorite book!!

This book is the beginning of a library for my new granddaughter.
I can't wait to add to it and read to her, whenever I can.

Reading this book is fun and exciting. The pictures are colorful and have wonderful detail that allows you to make up your own tale as you go along. There's no dialog or narration on the pages where Max and his friends are playing, so its a great opportunity for exploration and creative freedom to either alter the story or allow the child to do so. Fantastic book...

I was 9 years old when this book first came out, so I missed it, because I was too old. I bought it recently after I saw the trailers for the new movie. I'm 55 now and I was amazed at how simple but imaginizing (sic) and inspiring this story is. I read it to my girlfriend. She loved it. Now I need to find a grandkid!

This was a gift, it was in great condition. I wanted to read it before the movie came out. It came very quickly.

When the book arrived I read it to my seven year-old first, and then he read it to me. It's still a great book after all these years - I'm soooo glad they didn't change anything.

THE BOOK WOULD HAVE BEEN IN EXCELLENT CONDITION HAD IT BEEN SHIPPED PROPERLY. THE PACKAGE GOT BENT SO THE BOOK WAS BENT AND TORN, SO SAD, BUT MY CHILDREN ENJOYED THE STORY ANYWAY.
