Disregard the other review here. Granted, any Springsteen fan is a friend of mine, but god bless him, he's off his rocker. This record is the epitome of why critics and fans alike love Springsteen. (Not to mention, it has one of the best first songs of all time!) The songs are energetic, non conforming, and brimming with optimism. Bruce is wearing this creative-heart on his sleeve, trying to find his way on this record. And while, he doesn't always 'find himself,' the journey is WELL WORTH IT...again, WELL worth it. I mean, listen to Nebraska, then listen to this...listen to 'Darkness,' then listen to this. The arch is HUGE, who else does this and pulls if off? Absolutely great music with long jams and room for Bruce and the boys to wonder around. Longer story longer...if you like Bruce, get this record. But more important, if DON'T like Bruce...defiantly buy this record and get ready to be amazed.

I am a Bruce fan from the 80's, so I thought I would check out his first. Opinion---listen to the tracks, live, with the real "E Street Band".... IF he does Sandy or Rosalita. The rest take it and trash it.
