Wii Fit Plus (Wii, 2009)

I have the original Wii Fit and enjoy the games. So of course when the Plus was announced I wanted it also. If you already have the balance board, there is no need to purchase another. With the Plus, it pulls your information from the Wii Fit game. All the games from the original are on the Plus. Some of the new games include bike riding, segway riding, juggling, marching band, kung fu, flying like a bird. Also another guiding a bubble through the water. A table tilt and a tilting game using the balance board and wiimote. I really enjoy all the new games. There is also a few new yoga and strength items. You can also set calorie burning goals for yourself. And set up routines for yourself. Or pick what area of your body you want to work on, they have preset routines. It is a good workout without feeling like you are working out. I don't even call it working out, I call it playing.

I thought it would expand on the aerobic exercises, give me longer, harder or more options. It does not. The "set your own routine" function was attractive to me, but it does not address aerobic which is where I work the majority of the time. I do not like the scoring here either, if I get the same score a couple of times, it only shows once in the top ten scores. If I knew what I knew now when I ordered it, I would not have ordered it.

If you liked the Wii Fit, you will LOVE the Wii Fit Plus.
It has many new activities including skateboarding (!) and you can finally stop following that yappy little dog and roam the island on your own, going wherever you want to on a bike! It also has more exercises, and the built in routines mean you aren't constantly reaching for the Wiimote to press the "A" button after each exercise. It uses the Nunchuk quite a bit (I had to hunt for mine, I had never used it before, but you need it to juggle! also for the rhythmic boxing)
I still find you have to listen to the "do this exercise every day to improve your posture" propaganda a little too much. I wish it could "remember" that it told me that last time, and the time before that, and would vary the speech a little more, but maybe that will be in version 3.
The main thing is that it makes moving fun again, and that's what really counts. I am 54 and never thought I could have this much fun exercising! Highly recommended!

P.S. One complaint: Although the conversion of the existing data from the original Wii Fit went off without a hitch, it mysteriously now measures weight in Kilograms. Admittedly, in Canada that's how we do things officially, but I, like many of my older fellow Canadians, have never adjusted body weight measurements to Kg, nor height to centimeters, nor pool temperature to Celsius (air temperature is another matter, no problems adjusting to that!) Anyway, there does not seem to be any way to select Lbs over Kgs, or at least I haven't found it! I guess I'll get used to it!

Just when I was getting bored with the original Wii Fit mini-games, Wii Fit Plus arrived! The Plus version includes everything from the original, plus several new features.
My favorite part is that there's a whole screen full of new games. Like the original set, they're colorful and creative. Many use the Wiimote as well as the balance board: the Wiimote serves as the handlebars of your Segway, or shows how well you can juggle while you balance on a giant beach ball. You can even fly through the air while dressed as a chicken! You also have the option to play some "brain fitness" games that test how quickly you're adding up numbers or sorting out colors.
After you finish an activity, Wii Fit Plus tells you how many calories you just burned. Unfortunately, most don't burn more than a couple of calories, which can be a bit discouraging -- and it's based on a generic intensity measure, so you don't get any bonus points for going all out. In fact, the new games seem weighted toward efficiency more than intensity; when you do the bicycle ride it's a good workout, but the longer you spend racing around the course, the lower your score at the end... so there's little on-screen incentive to work harder while you play.
Happily, you can extend each phase of your workout by choosing from several pre-made routines that mix a variety of exercises (for a total around 5 minutes each), or you can design and save your own favorite workout - whether it's all balance games, a mix of hip-toning yoga and strength poses, or some other combination you love best. Since the routines move directly from one activity to the next, you get to skip all the lost time navigating the menus, and devote your exercise time to the exercises themselves.
Although still a comparatively mild workout, like the original game, the Wii Fit Plus is a fun way to spend more time getting active at home.

Since I've gotten my Wii Fitness plus, I've lost weight and feel better mentally. It DOES work but you have to do it on a regular basis, and as it instructs!

If you are like me, and hate going to public gyms, but don't live in an apartment complex that has a mini "gym", you NEED to get this game. Don't forget the board! You won't be able to play with out the board!

really like that you can switch users easily and go back and to as my kids love to try something when they see the other one doing it. Nice to have some variation on some of the familiar things. Not into the calorie counter but well worth the price I paid for an upgrade. Haven't had a chance to use too much yet, but as much as I like it now, looking forward to using more.
It also picked up memory from old version of FIT..gotta love it!

I realy like all the new added features. The grafics are improved. I really like that you can play the new and old wii fit together. You can design your own work out, it tells you how many calories you have burned after each thing you do! I don't love that you aren't burning as many calories as you think! It's still fun! It has a new balance marble game, it's ok. Otherwise you'll be riding bike, running/walking through an obstacle coarse and a lot of other different games, oh they want you to use your brain...you need to add. No fishing. If you are ready for something different...this is it. It's not fantastic but it's different than the old wii fit. I'm glad I bought it.

It helps you to stay fit, ofcourse with fun.. I would surely recommend this item who wants to be in shape at home, without going to gym

The price was right. Compared to store prices this was an excellent deal and delivery was quick.I would order from this company again.

I bought this item because the price was good and a heck of a lot cheaper than a gym membership. Unfortunately life has been so busy lately that we haven't even been able to use it yet. But, unlike food, it won't spoil so when life slows down a bit we'll start having fun staying in shape. If it's like the other Wii products we've purchased I'm sure there will be no complaints. I'm going to give it a good rating even though the plastic wrap hasn't even been removed yet.

This is so much fun! It tells you calories burned and when you choose the workout plan option each day the plan changes for variety. Very easy and fun way to get a fast workout as you can choose the length of the plan also. Goes very well with the Wii board and the new games a alot of fun.

it doesn't appear at all that this auction is just for game only ,if you read it even normally you will never notice that ,except if you concentrate you will find it by small according to the rest of the details.
so normally you will make an auction normally with a fit board with cd games not the cd games alone ,so that kind of cheating the member

I Haven't played the game yet but i can say the game arrived on schedule with no problems. I would recommend this buyer to anyone whos thinking about buying something from them.

Haven't done anything with this as it is meant as a gift. I really have nothing to say. However, the review requests at least 100 characters, so I have to fill the spaces even if it means nothing. I bought this as a christmas gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. Unfortunately I didn't know that it required a balance board as well. I thought once I bought the Wii, and the program, that would pretty much cover it. Not being a "gamer" I didn't realize how much money you could sink into this stuff.

My kids absolutely love it. They have been on it ever since we received. :)
We have the Wii fit already. But this one has additional games and exercises that the whole family love. I would strongly recommend.

I love my wii fit! It is a fun, easy way to get exercise without going out ot the house! It is fun for the whole family!

I bought this because it has "custom routines" that you can make. The problem is, it only lets you have your own custom routine. One. Really annoying, but having a custom routine is much better than clicking through menus after every single one. So, it's better, but I'd probably investigate one of the other ones like EA Sport's before making a purchase again.

I purchased the Wii Fit Plus about a month ago and it was an immediate hit with my family! This game is great for kid, adults and seniors. There is some sort of exercise for everyone, from yoga to martial arts, and I like that your body stats (weight,bmi,balance)are stored and updated everytime you train or workout!

If you love Wii Fit, then you definitely need this addition. There are some great games and exercises that kind of round out the rest of it. I played Wii Fit so much that I was getting a little sick of the games and so these new ones are a great addition to spice up the action a bit.

Its an enhanced version of the Wii Fit and takes it to the next level.
It includes more challenges and is interactive.

I bought this as a gift for my mom. She loves working out on the Wii except after not working out for a couple weeks it called her a couch potato :0) However, that gave her more incentive to get on it. she enjoys working out with it. I do not believe there is anything she dislikes. I bought it so she can workout at home whenever she wanted and did not have to buy a gym membership or worry about the weather.
