Wicked Woman by Denise Eagan (2007, Paperback)

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice change of pace with a scandalous plot of a lady looking for a secret elicit affair. The lady is a confidant to the Queen and known as a "hero" widow. She has been in mourning for a time which is how the queen wants her. This lady plan a secret hookup in Aphrodite's Club wear she wears a scarlet dress and a viel to disguise herself. As she begins her search for the man in her affair, she scans the club for a suitable choice, and she can't believe it when she sees the man who she was infatuated with when she was a young girl. So the meet for their night of scandal, but he decides he must see her again even though he doesn't know who she is. As that is where the rest of the story get interesting and I don't want to spoil any of it. I really enjoyed the tale.
