Why I Jumped by Tina Zahn (2006, Hardcover)

This book touched me deeply and brought tears, especially the part about her being saved from self-destruction...wow! This woman had courage just to survive the sexual abuse from her childhood, let alone the post-partum depression that plagued her after childbirth. This woman's story is miraculous and amazing! Tina's confidence in Christ and her victory over the tragic circumstances that led to her jumping off a bridge will have you turning the pages in rapid succession. Great book, great story of hope and promise for even the most wounded of souls!!

This is a great book to read. It is good for someone suffering from anxiety and depression as well as people who know someone who suffers. It helped me understand some of my feelings and I think that has good information for people who have trouble understanding what people who suffer from depression and anxiety go through.

If you or a loved one are suffering from ppd or depression of any kind I reccomend this book. It definitly gives hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel for those of us who suffer and tips for understanding and helping from our family members. There are resources at the back of the book for online help websites that I thought were a great idea and a perfect ending. She doesn't just end the book and say I'm better she gives you useful tools for seeking help yourself as well as descriptions of depression symptoms (some are not what you would expect depression to cause). And she shows you that with God's help we can be well even if we will have to be vigilant of our health and behaviors in the future. That's not a failure to be well but a sign that we have learned how to care for ourselves and know when to ask for help. I thank her whole heartedly for this book and for being brave enough to share her personal life with all of us. God bless you Tina.

I bought this book originally because I live in Wisconsin and I remember hearing about what happened. This book was excellent and recommend it for everyone who ever has kids or know someone having kids. It really goes into post partum depression and into her past. An excellent read!!
