Excellent Story Of Unrequited Love with REH !

Wow!
I thought I knew a lot about Robert E Howard, (REH), but this movie added another facet to his life.
The movie is about a Texas school teacher,(Renee Zellweger), who has been dabling with writing while teaching school.
Her old boyfriend introduces her to REH, and she is drawn romantically to him.
However REH is an idiosyncratic writer, (played by Vincent D'Onofrio), of pulp action / adventure / fantasy /horror tales. Actually he describes himself as the 'greatest pulp writer of all'.
However the romance that Novalyn, (the school teacher), wants with REH doesn't go anywere because of REH's Oedipal attachment to his convalescent mother. Add to that problem that REH has some other emotional troubles, such as his attitude towards women, and that he doesn't want to be tied down. Yet he is tied down to his mother, who he could afford to have a home nurse care for, due to his money he makes writing!!
This is definitely an offbeat romantic movie that was based on the memoir "One Who Walked Alone". The book was written by Novalyne Price at 76 years of age about her brief affair with "Conan the Barbarian" creator Robert E. Howard, (REH)).
Tina wanted to watch this for the romantic aspect of the movie. I was thrilled to see it was about REH, who besides creating Conan, also created Solomon Kane, Kull the Conqueror, and Red Sonja!!!
Recommended viewing for those that love REH's works, and you can 'sneak' this in as a 'chick flick' to watch with your loved one!
LOL, Michael
