Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy (2007, Hardcover)

I didn't like the "almost" short story format. I didn't think that it allowed for the rich character developement that is so distinctly Maeve Binchy.

I love all of Maeve Binchy's books. I buy them all. Her books take you into another world and are some of the few books I like to read again and again.

Takes awhile to get into this book, but in Maeve's usual style she has you drawn to all these lovable characters, as if they are your friends and family.

With her usual delicate touch, Ms Binchy weaves the lives of dozens of characters together to produce an outstanding tale of lives, loves, choices, and circumstances in rural Ireland. Easily moving time from the past to the present, through generations, this is another one of Maeve Binchy's very best!

Maeve Binchy has done it again! What an extraordinary and accomplished story teller. Her characters quickly become your friends as Rossmore becomes your town. She hooked me from the first paragraph and I had to force myself to read this book slowly in order to savor each and every page. If you like a good story filled with your neighbors, cousins, sisters, brothers, and friends, then this is the novel for you.

I bought on two separate occasions this book. One was large print which was excellent for reading and my eyes at a wonderful price. It is the first time I buy a book of large print and find out how relaxing it is for the eyes. The other at regular print and also in excellent condition. Both books I was able to buy at a very fair price,especially for people on a budget. I am still reading the book and have not finished it but it is an excellent novel. I resold the small print book at a very fair price on ebay and the purchaser was very happy in getting it and in the wonderful condition it was in. I think dealing with Ebay is great because you have people to help you if you have any questions and the majority of ebayers are honest people who will work with you on any item you are trying to get. Really a good read by a great author. I have several of her books and she is a great author to follow.
