The White Queen by Philippa Gregory (2009, Hardcover)

Really enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of Philippa Gregory you will not be disappointed. I'm looking forward to The Red Queen and The White Princess now. The Plantagenets are not as soap opera-ish as the Tudors, but they are definetely more passionate and more driven.

Well written. Enjoyable and interesting reading. About the War of the Roses in England. Fiction but based on that era in England.

Another GREAT period book by Ms. Gregory! I will read just about anything that she writes. I think that her grasp of this time period is amazing. She always has me anticipating her next book!

I absolutely love Philippa Gregory and I absolutely love history. That said, I absolutely hated The Other Queen. I was a little leary about getting The White Quenn, but I had read so many other books by her that I had to give her another chance. I made a great choice. The book tells of the War of the Roses and also of the bitter war between brothers. This book also tells us that to be Royal during that time meant that everyone in the family had to look over their shoulder, including those to young to know it. It is an awful, awful look at the way family can truly despise one another even to the point of murder. It is too bad that there are so few written details about that time in history. I truly loved this book. I cannot wait for the second book in the series.

I have no comments because the book never arrived. I ordered it and paid for it and waited and waited but it never arrived. I wrote the seller twice asking for information on its whereabouts but got no reply.
