Lo-fi rock has never sounded so good!
Jack White reminds me of 'The Who' with his erratic playing style, he is all over the fretboard.
This is a very fine example of rock n' roll at it's finest.
..and no, the drummer is not his sister.

Do yourself a favor and pick this one up!

I decided to buy this CD because I was going to a Stripes concert & figured I'd better brush up on all the lyrics prior to going. I was familiar with some of the songs on the CD but certainly not all of them, & I was pleasantly surprised to hear what was in store for me! I now own all The Stripes CD's & this is one of my most listended to CD's! On it is a luscious mix of soul penetrating sounds & lyrics, whether it's track #9 "We're going to be friends" which without much work quickly transports me back to my chldhood years so-much-so that I can just about feel the warmth of the elementary school classroom I once sat in as a child. Or perhaps track #7 "The Union Forever", which has strategically placed drum strokes entwined in, over & around soft but electrifying rifts of Jack's guitar & voice, stunning! Worth every penny!

  White Blood Cells
Review created: 09/24/09

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes is a very "Raw" sounding album. It does justice to their previously released album. This Album will keep any White Stripes fan on their toes and drinking in every word of lyrical genius pouring from Jack White's mouth.

Not my fave of the 2006 CD's, but it's the White Stripes, so you can never go wrong. These two are prolific songwriters and every CD should be owned!

  I Think I Smell A Rat

White Blood Cells is my least favorite White Stripes album. I know that many fans are crazy about this one but to me it seems to lack substance and direction. I've listened to it half a dozen times and it doesn't get any better. 3 Stars.

  Rocks Pretty Hard
Review created: 03/01/08

Yeah, this was as good as they said it was. It's just a great modern rock record, this could fit into the '70s though. (that's a good thing) White Stripes keep hope alive for the genre, along with The Strokes and Spoon. Rock on!!
