Publisher's Note
Struggling to prove himself after surviving an attempt on his life, Dr. David Hunter takes an assignment at an infamous anthropology research facility and is drawn into a bizarre murder investigation that is further complicated by secrets his colleagues seem to be protecting.

Industry Reviews
"Beckett ratchets up the suspense by inserting short sections from the murderer's perspective, and keeps the tension taut to the end with a late twist....[T]his entry reinforces the author's place in the front rank of forensic crime novelists."
(03/23/2009)

"Beckett handles the gruesome morgue details with scrupulous scientific rigor, and his entomological knowledge of the feeding and breeding habits of maggots is awesome."
(05/24/2009)
