This book was the first part to a very popular James Patterson book called The Lake House. (not the same as the movie). It was about a deeply secretive organization experimenting with the possibility of combining the DNA of people and birds. This was actually the first James Patterson book I've read. I enjoyed it more after the first 50-100 pages as the beginning seemed to move a little slow. It became exciting and suspenseful though and I was happy to know there was sequel waiting to be read. I am told this type of genre is not James Patterson's usual writing style and I think he did a good job. He's not Stephen King, but then there's only one Stephen King.
I bought this book because I enjoy reading James Patterson books. This was a suspense thriller and romance as well. The chapters are short but you keep reading the next ones. The hardcover jacket is enough to make you have enough interest to buy the book and read it. It is a hard book to put down.
This book like all the Patterson books I have read was a page burner. Hard to put it down. I would read further than I had intended just to learn more about these characters. Get ready to be hooked on this book.
This book is a page turner in every way. Gets your attention and keeps it. Being a busy eBay seller I don't have a lot of time to read and when I do I want a 'good' book. Not trash like a lot of the books are today. 'When the Wind Blows' was written in good taste and not a lot of vulgarity. I will be buying more of James Pattersons' books in the near future. Sincerely , Kathy Terry
I bought this book after I accidentally read the sequel, The Lake House, first. I thoroughly enjoyed both immensely. I am a huge James Patterson fan, and these two books were great additions to those I have already read. Patterson opens up the realms of possibility with just enough fact and fiction. If you enjoy this book, don't miss The Lake House.
I have read the series, James Patterson wrote,"Maxumium ride" and forund this book to be a delightfull fill in for part of the story line. Though It was written before the "Maxumium ride" series, I could see how it lead to the other series. I enjoyed the detail and the cahricter building that brought the peopel alive, and how there interactions seem to be natural. Imagin how you would feel if you found a child with wings, and that a large secret complex was right under your knose, where genitic research was being conducted with out the processes that keep science safe and controled. How would you like to see a child fly and enjoy the sky. If you have read any of the other books James Patterson" has written you will enjoy this one also.
I loved the book. The story was good and flowed, Kept me from wanting to put the book done. My daughter is currently having the same problem somewhere in the house, she is hiding so she can read it, without being interupted. I bought this book because I have enjoyed James Patterson writing in the resent past. He had me hooked with the first book I read of his. I can not seem to get enough, this is maybe the 10th book I have read in less than 6 months of his.
