I never pass up a new Chris Botti album and this album surely will be his most popular one so far...beautifully produced...great selection of songs..a very romantic album!!
chris botti is a great a trumpeter as there is. his masterful techniques compare to none. His passion shines through his work creating a listening experience like no other.
Botti's latest Italia is his best work, obviously since it's up for a Grammy, but his When I Fall In Love is excellent also. Everyone can enjoy it you don't have to be a jazz fan to like him. This CD will expand his fan base which is growing rapidly. See him live and you'll want all of his CD's.
This was my first Botti CD and I was blown away by his talent! He makes the trumpet sing like I have never heard before. If you are looking for some really smooth jazz, you can't go wrong with this CD. I am hooked for life! CB
Being with the one you love, with the lights down low, a fire in the fireplace, a fine bottle of wine and Chris Botti's "When I Fall in Love" for background music . . . that's my idea of "the" perfect romantic evening. If you're looking for music for such a evening . . . this CD is it.
I enjoy listening to this cd in the car when I am driving alone. It is not a favorite of my children. It is good soothing music to listen to after a hectic day.
The order went easy. There were no worries. I reccommend the seller. Very cool. If you want to send a gift to someone this is a great tool. I got the CD at a very low price and they shipped to my brother-in-law on time.
I love Chris Botti. The seller said that it was brand new, never opened with the celephane still on it. That was true. However, the CD was defective. It played one tune then skipped on the second and third and stopped completely after that. He told me to send it back but after the shipping charges he charged me and I did not get it as soon as I had expected, I decided not to send it back and just throw it out. Obviously, I will never order from him again.
I've heard Chris Botti play on TV and thought this CD sounded as thought it would be good music for playing on our boat when we are relaxing and I was right. It's soooo nice. I loaned it to a trumpet playing friend and she was inspired by it and plans to play one of his tunes for her cousins wedding on her flugelhorn. Good purchase.
I first heard Chris Botti during a special on the Oprah Winfrey Show and my first thought was "does this guy have a way with a trumpet or what?" Boy does he ever!
Right off the heels of the success of the wonderful CD A Thousand Kisses Deep he now comes with the release of When I Fall In Love. On which he certainly delivers his trademark very smooth trumpet sound.
This CD is not just another example of an artist from another genre jumping on the standards and ballads bandwagon. Instead it showcases wonderfully an instrumental stylist busting out of a box to find a much more suitable platform for his craft. It's easy to hear in the tracks on this smooth jazz CD that Botti is one who truly enjoys everyone of the songs featured on the CD.
The entire album simmers with soft but intense sensuality as Botti supplies his usual exceptional melodies and extraordinary combinations of understated but undeniable arrangements. I do not believe the combinations of bass and trumpet on track 2, What'll I Do? could be more perfect.
Botti enlists the vocal talents of none other than Sting, and Paula Cole who show's herself to be a very well chosen compliment to his own exceptional talent. Also appearing on the CD is keyboard genius Billy Childs.
When I Fall In Love is a CD that clearly showcases all of Botti's talent and is truly and outstanding production. It provides a real good mix of traditional standards and more modern romantic songs creating a song selection that is well designed for those who want to "get in the mood for love."
This is without a doubt one of the best CD's I've heard from Chris Botti, and is music that anyone can enjoy regardless of preference.
A must have if you're at all inclined to such musical tastes.
The standout tunes are Botti's rendition of the Sade classic, No Ordinary Love [track 3], Someone To Watch Over Me [track 7], and One For My Baby And One For The Road [track 12]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 8 featuring Sting, La Belle Dame Sans Regrets. Very nice!
