What's So Amazing About Grace? by Philip Yancey (1997, Hardcover)

I bought this book after reading a library copy. Now, as a leader in one of my church's home teams, we are studying the entire 10-part series in our group. We are using the DVD and participant's guide with the same title. Philip Yancey has written an amazing book about a topic that's hard to live, but is sometimes the only way to heal deep wounds. The book is rooted in Bible scriptures and yet has controversial subjects that we've had lots of semi-heated discussions about during our Wednesday night meetings. This book can change your response to life's potholes by replacing anger and revenge with something much sweeter.

Wonderful book! Again, Philip Yancey proves himself a true man of God. Another great book to read from him is "The Jesus I Never Knew".

I think evryone on this earth should be required to read this book. You will walk away with so much after reading this. I have bought about 7 of these books and have given them as gifts. I have read several of his books...but this one is by far the best so far. Grace is amazing! Read this book and you'll find out just how amazing it is!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can never go wrong with a book by Phillip Yancey. He is a gifted writer and describes the Christian life how it is or how it should be - alive and well in the world. The world is in need of grace, from God and from all who are willing to dispense it to a hurting world. Wake up, Christians! We can all change for the better. Humbly accept the free gift of grace and pass it on. Yancey's book can help. We are all imperfect and in need of grace. Dump the 'holier than thou' stuff or if you're living in a world of ungrace and unforgivness, come on in and see what is truly amazing about grace. It's freedom. Yancey knows what he is talking about and he does it better than most.

A very powerful review of the grace of God. Philip does a wonderful job of illustrating the power of grace with many excellent examples fro real life people!

I was introduced to this wonderful book when my Sunday school class did an 8 week study on it. I absolutely love this book, that is the simplest way to put it. It has changed my life.

It has shown me how to become a better person and a more loving, graceful Christian. It is a book that everyone (Christian and Non Christian) should read!

Philip Yancey shows people in a loving way, out of the box that we normally, as Christinas, put people into. A must read.

Excellent in depth book about God's wonderful grace towards us. The author does a wonderful job of excplaining it.
I bought this book for Home Group Study in our church. It has ministerd to me in a very big way and will suggest it to others.

This book was a requirement for an ethics class. If you are a Christian and are open to the Holy Spirit this book could change your life. If you're not a Christian, it will give you a peek inside the heart of a person devoted to Christ and realize the Christian religion demonstrated in America today often goes against the teachings of Christ, but instead resorts back to the Old Testament, which was made into history the day that Jesus hung on the cross.

I wish there was a way to spread this message to every believer and non-believer alike.

I bought this as a hard cover book and on an audio CD. Buy the book. The reader on the CDs makes the book a real snoozer. The book itself is the kind you don't want to put down until it's finished.

Anyone who wonders about the nature of God's forgiveness and undying love for the human race should read this book. Talk about helping you find freedom. Yancey explains grace in a way that will allow people to find the love and joy of their salvation. Should any unbeliever read this review, check this book out. All to often God is presented as a growly old codger who has anger issues or as a soft, effeminate presence. This book presents God as who He is, a loving Father who will go to the mat for His precious creation...us.
I don't know much about literary style, grammatical usage and other such educated stuff. I do, however, know when my heart has been lifted and the joy of the Lord has been imparted to me. This book definitely does this. Enjoy!

This was a book that our church was studying. It is an excellent book and reminds us all about how important Grace is and how it is key to our living a really satisfying life. The book is full of stories about the human condition and how incedrible acts of grace can be.

This is a must have for any Christian out there. Yancey is a wonderful author and any reader would be able to identify with his message. This is a must have for anyone who suffers from guilt or who is trying to "figure out" God. A must read!!!
