What to Expect the First Year by Arlene Eisenberg, Heidi Murkoff, Sandee E. Hathaway (2003, Paperback, Revised)

I bought this book after I had my third baby. I had an earlier version for my first two children that I had given away and because it was so helpful I new I would need it again for my new baby. The book provides great advice.

I like the Q&A writing style of the authors, makes reading more personal. For specific topics, I can just go through the index to see if it is listed. So far, I have found all subjects that I needed to know about my kids' first year in this book. This book is meant to be a reference. And since all babies are unique, you still have to refer to your pediatrician.

What to Expect the First Year - even if you think you know better.
By the end of the 7 month it is the time to start thinking about what to do after arrival. It will be a wonderful and for shure busy time. If you think you can read and learn on the job forget it. It is the right to NOW to go and meet all your questions and fears NOW. And there area a lot of them. As an expecting father I can reassure you, if you are a man and you are expecting you MUST read it before the birth not after. Good luck and have much fun, it is the best and worst time in your life, enjoy it!!!

I wish I could write a good review about their service, however, I never got the book! I have never had a problem with ordering on ebay before, until now.

Highly informative resource book for new parents. I appreciated the detail provided by the authors regarding how the intiate feeding baby foods to your infant and which food items are the safest to begin. I intend to keep this book as a resource in my home and would quickly purchase another parenting book written by these authors that discuss toddler and issues of school-aged children. Overall, I recommend this book for new parents.

I think every parent should have this book. Its very useful for us. Whenever we have questions we just refer this book. Even the pediatrician prescribes this book.

As helpful as What to Expect When You're Expecting... My only regret is that I didn't purchase the book until after my baby was born. It would have benefitted me to begin reading this book prior to the birth. Would have helped with the breastfeeding woes I experienced post-partum.

Great Book! A must for any new mom, or one who's children are spaced far apart! Takes you month by month through baby's first year of life. Answers almost every question you could ever have about your baby!

This book is a very good referece book for every stage of babies life. I bought this book because i'm a new grandmother and it's been 27 yrs since i've had to deal with babies.

Love this book. Any example you can think of is explained. I refer to this book all the time. It is like a bible in baby care. I had this book with my first son and used it all the time. Once my child turned one I decided to pass it on thinking I was a pro. Three years later I had another baby and realized that I needed my book back!!!!

My wife and I found out eariler this year that we were expecting. We immediately started to budget and save to make sure that we have enough money to get through the pregnancy. The book was too expensive at a local Wal-Mart and I felt that we could save a few dollars by researching on EBAY. After a few hours I found and bought this book. My wife is currently reading so, as to the content, I can't say. The only major difference in the 2003 edition and the 2009 edition is a section update on AIDS and other STD's. They also update the areas of childhood illnesses. Overall the book was in better shape than described, shipping was incredibly fast and the seller was a quick communicator.

This book has lots of questions asked by first time moms and seasoned moms as well. I found this to be very useful for those hard to find questions! I plan to pass this book on down to other pregnant friends and family!!!

ummmm my wife made me buy it. But she thinks it is a very good book and helps her out with our newborn boy so....The book was in great condition when it came in not even a page wrinkled and it said it was only in good condition. I got lucky.

Very good tool for first time moms!!! Has a month-by month detailed description of everything to expect, and how the baby should be developing. Also has common ailments that you might come across and how to deal with them. The What to Expect series are great. I read the pregnancy one, and also plan to purchase the toddler years one.

I referred to this book just like I did with "What to Expect While Your Expecting". Perfect for a new mom! There were lots of questions and concerns other parents had that the book thoroughly answered. It covers a variety of topics including breastfeeding tips as well. Great reference!

Great for first time young mothers. Bought this for a 20 yr old & she uses it daily since now the baby is 6 mo old.

I haven't recieved it. I wish the seller would contact me or send me back my money so I can purchase the item from a seller that actually sends out the items they sell. Still waiting.

Excellent first mother's survival guide. All the information you need to know and it is written in an interest-holding question and answer format. Easy and enjoyable to read!

This book was very informational. I bought it because I have a new son and wanted to learn what to expect.

The book just really was full of information that wasn't useful to me at all and had very little that was usefull.
