Westinghouse Electric SK-19H210S 19 in. HDTV TV

This is not a complimentary report!When the TV arrived I removed the TV and noticed a pamphlet to register the TV and the serial number must appear on the product or the warranty shall not apply! I checked and noticed anS/N on the decal but the serial number was missing! I contacted the seller and he informed me he saw the s/n on the box.I checked the box but nos/n, however there wereUPS labels that could have covered the s/n. My son came over and noticed a bunch of numbers below the bar code where normally the manufactures codes is located. He instead went on line and registered that number and it was a valid serial number instead so we contacted the seller.
It was time to install the TV. I plugged it in and connected the cable to the box and discovered that the remote was missing.I wasn't too concerned (then) because I had an old SONY remote, called Westinghouse and got a 3 digit code. The set got turned on, lit up but there was picture or sound.I manually tried the Control on the set but it did not work. I called Westinghouse (Matt) and spent a half hour buthe gave up and informed me his supervisor will call within 48 hours. Two days later I called the supervisor was not available so Seth and I spent another hectic half hour and suddenly a picture appeared. It took another 10 minutes for the set to incorporate all the channels.. I asked Seth to mail me the missing remote but was informed it was E-Bays responsibility because E-Bay was not recognized as an authorized dealer.I contacted E-Bay and on December14th I wasinformed that it may take 72 hours to resolve the problem. In the interim my friend informed me that a Westingjouse remote was necessary to update the TV. I sent E-Bay another message on December 23, but again, never received a reply.In digust via Yahoo I purchased a remote from Remote Control Warehouse for $34.95 and sent a letter to Meg Whitman informing her that she lost a customer and a bit of E-Bays reputation.That was on December 26th. To date Customer Service still did not respond to my original request for a remote.Have a nice day.

exactly like my 32 inch. good price. a little short when I asked a question. would by again. a little short on volume but very good picture. One small scratch as advertised.

I purchased this TV with the mental reservation that it might have been purchased cheaply with a known defect, then sold on eBay at FMV. No such worries. This TV was in 'new' condition and functioned perfectly...it was exactly as described by the seller. He packed it with care and delivered it promptly.

He mentioned that he bought a larger HDTV and no longer needed this one, and that appeared to be exactly the case. I'm glad that he had a way to recover some of him money and I had the opportunity to purchase a replacement for my old analog TV at a really good price.

I was weighing this TV against one 'on sale' at the Bankruptcy liquidation of Circuit City. I am certain that I was better off buying through eBay than from a brick and mortar store. Especially one that was going out of business.

Any deal is no better than the word of the people making the transaction. In this case, the seller was absolutely accurate in his description and his follow through. I don't think one is any more or less likely to have a good or bad experience on eBay vrs a retail store...except the eBay price is 30% of the store price.
