This twofer features a pair of the real-life cowboy and rodeo champion Chris Ledoux's early-1980s albums, containing the artist's characteristic odes to the West--the open range, the rodeo, and the eccentric and independent characters that live in it. In a sign of Ledoux's increasing musical confidence, over half the songs on WILD HORSES are self-penned, and his voice has similarly matured, delivering a relaxed tenor on such songs as "He Rides the Wild Horses," "Freedom's Just a State of Mind," and "Get Along Little Doggies."
