Western Digital VelociRaptor (WD1500HLFS) 150 GB SATA 3 Hard Drive

These drives SCREAM !!! It makes your system respond noticeably faster! The older Raptor model ran quite hot and required a fan,,while these run warm,, they really don't need a fan.
I will be using these in ALL the Win7 systems I'll be building. Pair these drives with a dual(or even quad) core system and 4gig RAM,, you will be AMAZED at how fast they are!!!

Have not actually tested this purchase yet. I have actually used these before and they are very quick hard drives for accessing files. I have had difficulty with Western Digital drives before, without the manufacturer fixing the problem, though not necessarily the raptors. Other brands, like Seagate are what I am trying recently also, as I have heard good warranty info with them.

These Western Digital Veloci Raptor Hard Drives are the best out there. They are absolutly quite and I can't beleive how cool they run. There is a very noticeable different in heat between these Veloci drives and the old Raptor drives. I have 3 of these in my system any think they are the best drives on the market. As for speed and access times, I don't think you will find anything faster. Great Drives...

I built my own desktop computer a month ago because my old HP laptop died. I'm sick of high end laptops dying on me (3rd one and i'm only 24) so i decided to build a high end desktop and keep my laptops down to simple operations. For the storage drives, i bought two WD Caviar Black hard drives and set them up in a Raid 1 configurations to have a redundant backup of my important data, but for the operating system, i wanted something fast and responsive. A+ in both respects. My computer runs faster than any one i've ever used before :) I love this drive, and i've had no problems with it so far.

Easy to install, and cool running, this little hard drive is fast! I highly recommend this for anyone who loves speed or deals with a hot machine. One of the best features is the heat sink that surrounds it. Keeps it cool, which means greater safety far less likelihood of it dieing unexpectedly on you.
