Western Digital MyBook Studio 1TB (WDH1Q10000N) 1 TB USB Hard Drive

so far i've enjoyed flawless operation from this product. no crashes, no missing data. very good value for the money, and also very handsome looks. if i didn't know better i would think it was made by apple.

i guess my only complain would be that you cannot connect to more than one computer at once, despite having firewire 400, 800, usb 2.0 and SATA connections.

on a minor note i would like to have some control over the brightness of the light. it looks great during the day, however, at night it's like having the full moon dancing in your bedroom, beautiful to look at, but at some point you've got to have some sleep.

The item is easy to use and has plenty of space. Ebay afforded me the opportunity to get it at a great price. I would recommend this drive to anyone who needs the extra space.

This product is fast and full of memory...it is very useful because I am a DJ and this HD makes portability very easy. It can be carried in my backpack for school projects as well, and it seems like there is endless space available. I highly recommend this drive. The eSata feature is also a great feature as it makes communications/transfers between the drive and the computer a breeze. I would definitely purchase another one of Western Digitals products after experiencing this huge HD.

This product is very sleek, beautiful, and functions perfectly through USB. However, my intention was to be able to use the speed of Firewire 800 to my advantage. With a Macbook Pro, Snow Leopard, and this drive, that is not the case. However, I have been reassured that many Firewire 800 devices are having trouble with Snow Leopard at the moment. These reports, while somewhat consistent, are not all agreed upon however. Considering its performance through USB though, I would suggest that this drive is not faulty. In any case, I will be quite disappointed if Western Digital and/or Apple cannot resolve the problem in a timely manner, and my rating would probably be more around "Average." Functionality this substantial should not endure equally substantial problems after it has already been sold to the public.

I've been wanting one of these hard drives for a long time now. I'm in college so I don't have the money to go out to Apple and buy this exact hard drive for $250, so I decided to look for it on Ebay and found it for a fraction of the original price at $84, which is a great bargain. I will defiantly be shopping from this seller again again Ebay.

I have used these drives for a couple years now without a failure or glitch...which is more than I can say for LaCie!

Awesome product...own 6 of them and will buy more. At the average price point...I buy one per client to store their individual projects on them. I do video production.

This hard drive turns itself on and off with our computer, runs quietly, and goes into standby automatically when not needed. I love using it with Apple Time Machine - never worry about losing data!

This hard drive is great. well worth the money. a great purchase for anyone. the speed of the firewire is ridiculous.

I know that I will always get the best deals on the newest hardware for my computer.The service is great, the shipping fast and the items new or almost new.
I even tell people shopping at the CLUB stores " they can get it all cheaper on Ebay"...why would you pay more for the same item!
The items you buy can even be sent to another location and be there before you arrive. Often I shop for computer items and have them shipped to my Mothers house, in Florida, they are there waiting for me when I arrive. I could not ask for better service...thank you Ebay!

A GREAT addition to a Mac. I bought this particular drive specifically for the firewire 400 and 800. Comes with both 400 and 800 cables and is significantly faster over USB when using firewire 800. Its slightly bulky but looks very sleek and its silver color matches the Mac well.

Plug and play. Perfectly simple to use.
No complaints really.

The drive delivered fast and works perfectly. The first thing I did was download the WD drive firmware updates and install them. I have been using the drive everyday since I purchased it with no problems.

The hard drive works great has four options of connectivity, USB, FW400, FW800, and eSATA. Included all cables was delivered quickly and packed professionally. I would buy again.

Firewire transfer pretty fast, nice design. But I think Seagate is still the best, based on rating and real usage.

Im not sure if this issue is because it was a Refurb when i bought it, and its only happened once, but i have about 300GB worth of MP3s on the Drive, and for some reason in a stretch of a few days, when i was accessing the drive for more then 10-30 mins, it would freeze up on me. After several time of turning it on and off it finally started working correctly again. Other then this issue the drive has been killer ever since. I use this in conjunction with my macbook pro as a Firewire 800 drive, and while the speed is not super amazing fast as i was hoping for, i was still really impressed by how quickly the drive works. I think when i backed up my MP3 on to USB it took several hours to do, with this drive, it took 20 mins. and thats 300GB worth of stuff.

With all the interface connections and 1 terabyte of memory, it couldn't get any better for the money. Excellent purchase and service.
