Western Digital My Passport Essential 160 GB USB Hard Drive

I love this external hard drive. Great size, performs great(really fast) and looks good too. I really like that it has the mini USB versus the micro USB.

I like the drive because it is small and portable and works excellently with western digitals media player, the combination is perfect for backing up movies so you can take them on road trips - no more scratcted movie disks!
The bad part of these tiny drives are that they are slow - I own 4 of them, ranging from 150 gigs to 1 T - all of them are very slow... but they are cheap and reliable - it's a trade off for the tiny size...
I gave it a 'good' rating and not excellent because of how slow the drive is - if not for that I would have given it an excellent.
my oldest one is 3 years old and has been dropped, sat in a puddle of coke, in the car in the hot texas summer for about 2 weeks, forgotten after vacation and still worked like a champ - it still works, seems like they are indestructable - and never has one suddenly 'lost' it's content like my seagate has done... everything considered these small passports are very good.

This product is great. I didn't expect to receive it nearly as fast as I did. I expected it to take about a week, but it was here in only 2 days! AMAZING!!!

Simply by plugging this in to my USB port, this drive was self-loaded into my computer. It came just in time as my hard drive C almost out of space and I was getting warning messages. I could now use this drive like my internal hard drive C and put programs on it, as well as download files. This saved my computer and me from much anguish. I am now using it as a second internal hard drive and saving much info and files to it

I love the WD My Passport essential. What drew me to buying it was the looks of it. It looks incredibly sleek and shiny, like the ps3. I bought it to play backups of my wii games on my softmodded nintendo wii. Works fine with no problems. And i also partioned 30gb of the 160gb to use for regular computer files. I love it!!!!you will not be dissapointed.

This item was shipped fast and in perfect condition. Everybody should back up their hard drives on one of these in case you computer crashes.

The WB external hard drive is small and slim so you can take it with you anywhere. They have plenty of space to store pictures and keepsakes to take with you if something happpened to your computer. They have all kinds of colors and also come with some google software and are ready for any computer.

The hard drive works perfectly for everything that i use it for, backing up all of my videos music and photos. The only things that i have a problem with is that transferring alot of big files from my computer to the hard drive took a while. It took around 6 minutes to transfer around 20gb's. But all in all its a great product for the price you can get it for. Its not the biggest hard drive out there but it definetly is good for the price range.

There are tons of pluses to this product. It is small, which is convenient for laptop bags or even in your pockets (it's just a little bigger than a wallet). Here is a big plus, it doesnt require a seperate power cord, the USB cord charges it as well, and that's my main reason why I purchased this product because on airplanes and cars you wont have an opportunity to charge it.
