Works like a charm, simple plug and play, durable body, does not overheat! I had one just like this for over a year now, using it really heavy duty, and no problems what so ever! Highly recommended!!!

This is a very good product, I would recommend to anyone that needs an external hard drive, it’s small and fast,
The only thing that I had to do and that was not too difficult was change the file system format from FAT32 to NTFS,the reason I had to do this was because I wanted to save movies and TV shows and because of the size of these being over 2gb..the file FAT32 would not let me, other than that..it’s an excellent product.

its great but just recently my dad set my lap top on the usb and bent it to its breaking point do you no if i could just buy that piece or a number to get it repaired? if you could get back to me through email or ebay that would be great!

I have been wanting to purchase an external hard drive for sometime. I checked with quite a bit of places and most retail electronic stores or big discount retailers, couldn't match this deal. And most stores didnt have this product. Yet serveral sales people informed me that even they wanted this product and found it to be the best in the market. But their stores carried the slimmer model passport or the bulky book model. I am please to have purchase this at such a great value. I spent about $114.00 for this wonderful hard drive all I had to do was plug and play. I used my security software to run my backup. It took really fast. The Element is slim and lite. The black case and rubber grip ends makes it very strudy and actractive. Keep in mind this is a desktop. But its very portable. All you need is an ac source. Very pleased.

This is a very nice external hard drive. I personally wish that it would have come with a longer USB cable, but the one included could be considered to be of standard length.

I was very impressed with the price for this high quality, extremely high capacity external hard drive. A person cannot go wrong by using Western Digital hard drives. I consider them to be the best.

I will use this hard drive primarily as a backup for my laptop computer at this time.

i had bought a hard drive external i'd like because it has a big memory and i can sotre many datas, is a wellknoun brand WD, its price is in average of the market, easy handled, but i dont like its weight is too heavy.

Ok,

For one, the write speeds might be a tad bit slower than if you're used to using an esata connector for your current external hard drive.
but, this product doesn't come with any of the BS included software that doesn't work. It's as simple as can be...

-Format it: Quick Format NTFS
-Use it!

it's truly a plug and play hard drive.
I've only had it for a little while now.
But when I first got it, I moved about 350gbs of files and backed up music and whatnot into the hard drive. took me a little over 2 hrs. Which doesn't bother me, cuz I was just watching a movie in the meantime on my computer at the same time.

Although, I wish they did design it with an esata port and cable for faster transfers. But this will suffice for me.
It's about the size of your average paperback book-so it's not too much of a hassle to carry around. And it doesn't run hot at all i'm glad to report.

only thing I really don't like is it only comes with a 1year warranty =[

If you're still tryin to figure out if this one's the one for you, get it!
Unless you wanna pay the extra for a bigger sized external with an esata/firewire port.

It is a fast, easy to use hard drive. very portable,and easy to carry. perfect for my needs. seems sturdy and well built. best hard drive I've seen on the market.
