Publisher's Note
Industry Reviews The planned multi-volume annotated bibliography will give an overview of primary and secondary sources of novelists who came to prominence in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s as a result of their depictions of life in the following regions of the American West -- the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains and Great Basin, the desert Southwest, and the interior of the Pacific Northwest. The items described range from reviews of first books to materials published in 1990 and 1991, and include secondary materials. The author notes in the preface that he has included the major female novelists of the region and period, but that Native American and Chicano novelists have been or will be treated elsewhere by the publisher.
