When the Big Networks' TV Season is over, (or on hiatus like this past Season!), we usually rent DVD Sets to catch up on new series that we have found after they have been on, or sets that have compiled some of our favorite series recently.
Right now we are waiting for Season 3 of 'The West Wing' to come in, after viewing Seasons 1 & 2 this past week.
This great TV Series was one of Tina's 'TV Shows' that she watched before we married a few years ago.
I hadn't watched it before, and found myself very interested in the final seasons, starting midway in Season 4. I usually don't like getting 'involved' with a series that has been on for a while, but found the actors to be well casted and after a while tended to ignore the sometime 'preachy' aspects from the producers and just let myself be entertained by the storyline.
Recently with the 'presumptive' nominee Obama winning the Democratic nomination, I've missed watching the fun of actual campaign races being fought everyday on the cable networks.
When I saw Season One of this TV Show for rental, I queried Tina if she wouldn't mind if I rented the DVD for us to view.
Turns out she had only see most of the episodes of Season 1 & 2 herself, and thus we have been enjoying watching this 'timely' show the past couple of weeks.
Now we are watching another DVD set while waiting for Season 3 of 'West Wing' to come in.
BTW, if you have not seen all the episodes of this series, it has a high recommendation from Tina and myself!
We do watch more than just Sci-Fi and Comic Book Movies!

Best Written TV Drama EVER!

If you like smart, witty, superbly acted, engrossing entertainment that's more about process than over-the-top action, this show is for you! Season one contains arguably one of the best pilots ever written -- in fact, it's so finely and subtly crafted that you'd never even know it was the pilot episode (no clunky exposition, yet totally graspable; no feeling that the actors are still trying to get a handle on their characters).
This is a great series to own on DVD because the episodes are extremely rewatchable -- I've seen each of them probably a dozen times and it never gets old. With each re-viewing, I either discover something new, or enjoy the anticipation of the great lines I remember from before.
The West Wing has provided me with the most fun civics lessons I've had since watching School House Rock's "How a Bill Becomes a Law" as a kid!

Whether or not you are in to politics this was a fabulous series.The interaction between the characters and the constant movement is wonderful. The interaction between the characters was amazing. The actors had alot of script to memorize and it was great.

My favorite series in many years. I was hooked from season one and have bought all of the seven series. My favorite seasons are 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7. 2 was very exciting with the two gunmen. End of season four made we want to buy season 5 in a hurry...season four leaves you hanging in suspense. Season six things heat up for the new president candiates. Season 7 hits the ground running and the pace never slows down.
I watch all 7 series in one month. My eyes are bloodshot from the late nights:) Can't go wrong with this series. I'm not even big on politics...but the characters in this series were so deep...and funny.

The West Wing is a terrific show. Always imaginative and thought provoking, the show has followed Martin Sheen's presidency as Jed Bartlett. It hac come along way since the beginning - and that's where these discs for season one come in. Watch them all to re-live or learn anew about this great show.

Not the best season, but a must for fansI just finished watching all 7 seasons of the West Wing, but oddly enough, watched season one last. The entire run of the show is pretty brilliant, with the best seasons being 2-4. The first season is great to watch for a fan of the show because the characters are so young and the entire show is just starting to get a feel for itself. If you are just starting out with the West Wing, it is okay to start with a later season, you'll get to know everyone and won't miss a beat.

In my humble view, West wing is the finest show in the last 20 years. The depth and intelligence of the plots and writing is without equal. The acting is routinely fine, and the videography borders on fine art. In a world of sitcoms and reality shows, the 7 years of WW set a benchmark, a challenge, even a taunt to thos who pander to the lowest common denominator, viewers and producers alike.

) I love the west wing. Season one is not my favorite but I still enjoy it. The weird thing about it is all the flash backs and the way the series starts. Its the second year in the first term of President Bartlet's Presidency. The cast is amazing, they are great actors. I miss this show.

West WingThis is the best television show in years. The writing is incredible. Aaron Sorkin is at his best!! It was perfectly cast. There has never been a show that truly captured what life is like on the inside of the White House. I learned something new with each episode.

Anyone who loves politics this is a great series. Of course it is from a Democratic point of view. It shows the complex workings of a White House from many different points and people. I think it is a great teaching tool, for anyone studying the Government, and how it does, or sometimes doesn't work.

West Wing Season One a hit all over again!There was no mystery in this DVD package. I saw nearly everyone of the episodes, but missed two or three during it's first season, but this was great! Good acting and directing - no wonder it won so many awards. Great drama and entertainment at a great price. four thumbs up!

The Best show EverThis is a fantastic TV show to watch, the dialogs are enriching, the camera moves are so artistic, and the acting is superb. The DVDs are very well made my only complain is the DVDs are double layer and the label to see which DVD are you ready to play are very small. is impossible to read the tiny label at the center of the disc MGM stop by the 4 season to make them that way

) Even though the Democratic Party is mostly portrayed in this series, I still believe this is an excellent lesson on how the politics of our great country work! (And I'm a Republican!) Watching this Season series set brings out the American pride I have for our country! (Emotionaly stirring!) I was also great to see the growth of a President and how his support staff assists him in making the "Right decision." EXCELLENT Series, GREAT Season! Highly Recommended!

The West Wing - 1st Season
) This is the start of one of the greatest TV drama series I have seen. The first season does a great job of introducing characters of the series and a good idea of how the show is going to operate as a drama series. Every season has some classic episodes and the 1st season does too. The pilot is terrific. The Christmas episode is great. The whole season is terrific and just leaves you wanting to watch the 2nd season. The final episode is the preview to the shooting of the president which we will find out was not meant for him but his aide Charlie.
