West Side Story (DVD, 2009, Two Disc Special Edition)

Well on June the 1st was when I won an item from this seller, I paid him a few days later for it and I thought that the seller would send the item. A week and a half past and nothing came. I tried to contact him and yet nothing, not one message. It has been two weeks and a half since I bought and paid for it and I haven't seen the item nor have I heard back for this seller. So if you are reading this shopper please beware of what you are getting yourself into. If the seller is reading this I am very disapointed!

I bought this item with iNetVideo-com and they stole my money because the DVD doesn't play on my screen. I write to them to have some explanations and also refund me but they never response to me.
I lost my money with them... Have a look on their feedback and you will see that they have a lot of negative feedback. I regret that i don't saw their negative feedback before buy this DVD.

West Side Story is one of the greatest musicals of all time. It is was the first modern day Romeo and Juliet. WSS takes place in 1950s New York's West Side. There are two rival ethnic gangs,the Jets whom are first or second generation Americans; and the Sharks whom are Puerto Rican born. As in Romeo and Juliet there is someone in the rival clan who loves each other. Tony who was a Jet falls in love with Maria whose brother is the leader of the Sharks. This movie features dancing and singing. Jerome Robbins directed and did the choreography and Leonard Bernstein composed the scores. Such memorable scores are "America", "Tonight", "Maria" and much more. WSS won 10 Academy Awards out of a possible 11 in 1961. The American Film Institute ranked WSS as the 41st best film, 2nd best musical and 3rd best romantic movie. WSS is a must see.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE BACK IN THE EARLY 60'S . AFTER WATCHING IT MORE THEN SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS, ISTILL LIKE IT . SHAKESPEARE WROTE EXCELLENTLEY ONE CAN DO NO BETTER THEN ATTEMPT TO EMULATE HIS WORKS. THIS MOVIE ACCOMPLISHED THAT VERY WELL. FOR THIS TYPE OF GENRE I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. I'VE VIEWED OTHER ATTEMPTS THAT I CANNOT IN ALL HONESTEY SAY THAT ABOUT. SO GO AHEAD SUSPEND ALL PRECONCIEVED IDEAS ABOUT THIS MOVIE . JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY IT !

If you're a fan of the movie/play and looking for the best version to buy, this is it. The red box packaging. Included is a hard copy of the complete screenplay! It's actually a surprisingly heavy box. Excellent wide screen viewing.

This was a thrill to re-visit! It was terrific when it first came out and it is a thrill today. Funny how as the years wear on,you see a movie again after so long and it is a completely different experience. Everything that was there is there,you just look at it in a whole new way.I once had the pleasure of dining with Richard Beymer. It was a very pleasant two hours and he was just as any ordinary person with no hint of the "I'm a star" persona that so many well known people adopt. Being a guy,I was completely captivated by Rita Moreno. She was just about the most beautiful,exciting chick on the screen at the time. She was (and still is) beautiful for years to come,and talented ? Lordy! The lady has a roomful of awards and deserves every one of them. This particular version of "West Side Story" comes with cast interviews and other things we never were aware of before. I like that! I bought several copies of this movie to give to friends.You will not be disappointed with this movie.

My first real date took me to see West Side Story on Broadway in New York City on my 14th birthday, and then to an elegant dinner at the famous Lundy's Restaurant. I will never forget that boy or that day.

The show was a masterpiece, that is why I bought it, to see it again.

Although this product was used, it was well cared for and in very good condition. It was also complete with cover and sleave insert along with the song track manual. Very pleased with the purchase!
