Wendy O Williams and the Plasmatics (DVD, 2006)

This DVD is a quality item. The picture is perfect. The sound is clear, and even throughout.
You could do no better then this dvd in experiencing the monster that is The Plasmatics.
The only drawback is that the dvd is missing the footage of the band playing on SOLID GOLD which was a hoot.

this dvd has it's good points (live concert footage of the Plasmatics/Wendy O.) but the documentary part is pretty lame. Not one interview with Wendy or any mention of Reform School Girls movie. There is lots of great footage here but it is wasted. Hopefully someone will make a real documentary someday that will tell the real story. Still as a Wendy O. fan, this is worth having.

This is a great DVD, a lot of Plasmatics material. The first 3/4 is great, up until the part where Wendy and Gene Simmons of "KISS" start working together, then it totally goes downhill. Also there is no mention on Ritchie Stotts, which is curious.

BOY,DID THIS BRING ME BACK.I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THE PLASMATICS LIVE IN 1981 OR 82.YOU WOULD NEVER GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF LIVE SHOW TODAY.IT WOULD BE PROTESTED.NOT THAT THEY DIDNT GET SLACK FOR THIER LIVE SHOWS.ANYWAYS,IT WAS A GREAT DVD.THIS IS PUNK/METAL AT ITS BEST.NOTHING LIKE THIS SO CALLED PUNK ROCK TODAY.ALL THESE NEW BADS SOUND THE SAME.THE SCENE IS A JOKE.HELL,I DONT EVEN THINK THERE IS A SCENE.BACK IN THE DAY I USE TO GO TO CB GB ON A SUNDAY AND SEE ABOUT 10 BANDS FOR 5 DOLLARS.NOW NOBODY BUYS CDs ANYMORE JUST DOWNLOADING.I USE TO LOVE TO BUY RECORDS AND,CDs FOR THE ART WORK AND LYRICS.WHAT HAPPEND TO MUSIC.I GUESS IT WILL DIE OUT.NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THAT.BUT RECORD STORES ARECLOSING LEFT AND RIGHT.

A must have for any plasmatics fan the group that were so ahead of there time in what they did and still bands or no one has caught up to there style of rock and punk,this dvd has a lot of good footage and interviews.

We loved all the new information about Wendy O Williams we missed out on the first time around. Great dvd. Information from close friends and co workers rock.

Her performances with The Plasmatics are dynamic. Her WoW performances are great, despite the candy ass big hair band the backs her up. I wish they would have put on more Plasmatics performances instead of a bunch of lamers yapping about her . We who love her know all about her past, arrests and could care less.
Buy this, its worth it just to see her on stage.

This DVD shows really all those unbelievable things who used to do on the stage. R.I.P.

I had been looking for something, anything, on video about Wendy O. and the Plasmatics for years. I found an old VHS tape a few years back, but it was home made and not very easy to watch. So, when I found this new dvd out there I jumped on it, and I am glad I did. It was very well made, except for some of the concert footage, as there were some home made looking parts to it. But, all in all I would call it a very informative and interesting look at one of the most influecial women in the rock bizz, ever. I would recommend this dvd to anyone wanting to know more about her, the band, and even the history of rock and roll. She was one of a kind, and sadly left us all too early in life. I am still not sure of the way she left us, but that's another story all together. Her attitude, costumes, and stage antics worked very well, and if anyone knows of another woman out there who can sound, look, and move the way she did, they need to leave a message here, as I have never found another person like her. Some men can't rock as hard as she did. She did her own stunts, and made her own way in a male dominated world. I hope all the younger rockers out there, especially the girls, take a good look at this one of a kind woman who set the stage for all who followed. Like the saying goes, "imitation IS the most sincere form or flattery", and Wendy O. Williams has yet to be duplicated. A must see for anyone needing to know about the roots of rock.
