Welcome to the Grindhouse - Black Candles/Evil Eye (DVD, 2007)

If you like old movies about witchcraft you may like these two movies.
They take place in the 1970's and were filmed then , however both films are of the type of movie that was infuenced by the drug culture. The kind of drugs in which people burnt their minds and the only thing they really learned was how a schizophrenic thinks, or course we now know even pot can cause mental disturbances, but In other words they don't make alot of sense in many regards. Even the great richard conte could save 'evil eye" from being a nonsensical movie filmed with disturbing images but a incoherent plot. Many italian movies from this period were excellent. THe best were the giallo or thrillers that ruled the italian movie scene from 1970-1977. This took some of the killer on the loose aspects of those movies and threw in wichcraft. Or even ghosts, the other flick is about witchcraft even more and has very disturbing scenes in it. Still at a low price these ok at best horror films may be worth adding to your collection. But I would look for a giallo first.
