I loved the movie as a teenager and my teen ask for it. She likes seeing what I watched when I was "younger".

  Weird Science revisited
Review created: 10/25/09

Loved seeing/hearing the original movie as it was made, especially remastered.

I was however disappointed that this dvd had no extras to speek of . . . I would have been interested in seeing bloopers, deleted scenes, making of clips . . . anything extra . . .

For those of you that have never seen this Movie, do not let the less than mediocre tv series that followed a few years afterwards prevent you from seeing it . . . the cast alone made it a classic!

Teenage geeks Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are sick of being ignored by girls, abused by cool guys, and forced to spend their weekend nights watching nerdy old sci-fi movies. Left alone for the weekend, they use Wyatt's computer to create Lisa (Kelly LeBrock), a stunningly beautiful woman with a body that stops traffic, a heart of gold, and a genius IQ. The boys embark on an adventure with their creation, going to bars, driving Ferraris, throwing a killer party, and keeping Wyatt's psychotic older brother, Chet (Bill Paxton), in check. But in the end, they learn that wearing cool clothes, hanging out with cool kids, and being popular might not solve all their problems. Written and directed by the king of teen flicks, John Hughes, this film was released after SIXTEEN CANDLES and in the same year as THE BREAKFAST CLUB. Like many of his films, Hughes's WEIRD SCIENCE is set in fictional Shermer, Illinois. A young Robert Downey (sans the "Jr.") appears as Ian, a cool kid who takes pleasure in tormenting Gary and Wyatt

  Really Cool Package of Awesomeness
Review created: 06/14/09

First thing is that I have always liked John Hughes movies, which is why I decided to watch this movie when I was a young girl. I have always been into comedy and sci fi and I love the fact that this is a wonderful blend of both genres. I can honestly say that there isn't anything about this movie that I dislike. I mean, it even has one of the guys that plays one of the mutants in my favorite horror movie The Hills Have Eyes (the original, not the newer version) as one of the mutant bikers at the party scene! That's freakin' awesome!! So it's kind of a no-brainer as to why I would buy it, really.

One Of The Funniest Movies From The 80's
Review created: 05/10/09

All around classic! A must have for any fan of the 80's brat pack. The idea of having two neardy guys making a girl is hillarious and the wild party at the end is great. Oingo Boingo in the sound track adds pure 80s flavor to the mix.

  Never got it.

I ordered the DVD, but the seller was out of stock. So I don't know why I am asked to write this review, and I don't know why it is still listed on my eBay purchased items.

I saw "Weird Science" decades ago, and would have really liked to have the DVD. I remember it where a fantasy woman made by two teens with a computer naming her, I believe, Lisa. She set the two teens straight by building confidence in them in an unorthodox way. I think her method of striaghting out the teens was one way, and unnecessary. I think there was the option of straighting them out in a good way. But then the movie would not have had as many ways of being funny.

The movie sells on eBay for around $26 plus p/h. The seller I approached was much less, and sorry he went out of stock. It would be the most expensive DVD I would purchase on eBay. But of course the caliber movie it is is worth it. So I am saving my pennies to get it.

I purchaced the dvd for my son who is 20. He's into comedy and many of the older pictures just have good old fashioned funny stuff. I enjoyed the movie as a kid too.

pc, girls, no parents what more could you ask for?!!
Review created: 12/10/07

This was the movie that started it all in the computer era! Every kid must have wanted their own pc after watching this flick. I love this movie's humor, and it seems to go non stop throughout the entire movie. This flick was well written and way ahead of its time.
