Who really cooks like this? Stick with Betty Crocker!

I was excited to get this cookbook, until it came.
These might be good 'Weight Watchers' meals, but they aren't the kind of meals that any average Americans I know, would make. Maybe it should be called the SNOB All-Time Favorites... Black Bean "Caviar"?... Fettuccine w/ Gorgonzola & Toasted Walnuts?... Smoked Salmon w/ Goat Cheese?... Frisee Salad w/ Truffled Eggs?... Tabbouleh-Pomegranate Salad?... Minted Zucchini Soup?... Artichoke Frittatas?... Pomegranate & Anise-Poached Grapefruit? Who comes up with this stuff??
The layout of this cookbook is great, with specifics about prep/cooking times and nutritional information. I just wish they were dishes that I would actually serve my family. Call me hick, but I'd rather learn how to cook a lean, moist chicken or hearty, lowfat baked-potato soup. I'm not looking to be the next Martha Stewart!
