Weedless Gardening by Lee Reich is very, very helpful.

I decided to buy the book because I found out, through reading a copy belonging to a friend, how many good, practical and effective ideas were found within its pages. I found that mulching is far superior to yearly tilling and constant weeding, for various reasons, only one of which is the fact that it cuts down tremendously on the work usually involved in growing a garden. I was particularly interested in designing and installing a drip system in our garden, as we have continued to have problems with soaker hoses; it had complete and easy to follow instructions. My garden is already much healthier and easier to take care of, and will become easier every year. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in cutting down on the tedious part of gardening, and in improving the health of the soil and the plants growing in it.
