) I sent this to my granddaughter's to enable them to study for the local
spelling bee.
Since I actually did not see the dictionary I asked my daughter what it was
like. They said it was great and in perfect condition.

) This is one heavy small print lots of pages dictionary. I wondered why we have so many words and its because a lot of them are words specific to certain situations or industries that most of us would consider foreign.

Webster's Third International DictionaryMuch thought has gone into the publication of this work. The result is a nice compromise between the physical size of the work and the information it provides. The scholarship that contributed to the work is excellent, and its authority is legend. It's a handsomely bound tome and should be in every home.
