No Commercial Potential?
Average mark is because this Zappa avant garde jazz rock album will most certainly not be to all tastes. Zappa writes and arranges more than he plays guitar on this outting creating a riotous soundscape of honking horns, crashing drums, electric violin, horns and disembodied voices -he's way out there. Sometmes they all play together in different time keys! It's a challenging disc, not one thats easy to wrap your head around, or as Zappa once said, it has "No commercial potential!" That said it's a great underground album, something a lot different than your average classic rock fare. In the readily accesible department he throws a standard into the mix, a Zappa guitar rocker,
"My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama" but other than that? Not for the faint at heart!
