We Love Golf! (Wii, 2008)

Golf is definitely an addiction of mine. I've played the real thing for 20 years and have owned just about every single golf game ever made for Nintendo since then. I can say that what this game has in graphics and variety, it lacks in challenge...

POSITIVES:
+ BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS - almost like playing an arcade game. Colorful backgrounds and effects with fun, exciting voices. Characters are Capcom-ish in nature and very likeable.

+ ONLINE PLAY - while the holes you play are randomized, you can take on anyone around the world in a 9 hole match play. It keeps track of you wins-losses for a nice replay incentive. Never-ending fun!

+ LOTS TO UNLOCK - You only start off with 4 players and two courses. But, with some easy wins, you can unlock more characters, upgrades, and nearly a dozen different courses to play.

+ UNIQUE MECHANICS - You could see this as a negative or positive. The way that you swing the club is a strange backswing-wait-forwardswing-kind of action. It's a bit tricky to comprehend at first, but is very forgiving (at least at first).

+ VARIETY - If tournaments aren't your thing, you can also play Ring Shot, Closest to the Pin, even a 18-hole putting contest. There's plenty to do to keep you from getting bored - hours and hours of enjoyment.

NEGATIVES:

- VERY EASY - My main beef with We Love Golf is that it's unbelievably easy! I won the first 5 tournaments the first time I competed (some, by as much as 20 strokes). Now granted, I'm a video golf junkie, but a lot of the thinking (mental aspect) of the game is done for you. Leading to very low scores and a lot of leeway for arrogant shots. Also, the greens are surprisingly flat, leaving few 3-putts, even from 100+ feet. And, the weaker characters have a VERY forgiving swing (meaning you could be well off-center and still keep the ball near the green/fairway).

- TEPID COURSES - A very minor problem is that even though there are lots of courses to play, few of them are very memorable. Each has its own theme, but few stick in my memory as very unique. But again, there's so much variety that this won't be a big problem.

CONCLUSION:
This is the perfect golf game for you or your friends if you are new to the video golf regime or just want to have a lot of fun. It's easy to learn and takes a lot of the excessive mathematics (thinking) out of real golf. For those hardcore golfers who are looking for a challenge or a more true-to-life feel for golf, you can stick with Tiger Woods '08/'09.

I must admit we've only played with the game once and were disappointed. The booklet that came with the game wasn't much help. We are golfers of senior citizen age and found the young animated golfers not like our own profiles. We were able to bring our Mii's in once but couldn't figure how we did it (hit or miss) and couldn't do it again. Also, the volume and command of the hand held Wii control to "point it down" and "swing" was very annoying. Plus we could not change the angle in which we could hit the golf ball and the game decided that for us. There was also too much graphic on the screen that made playing the game very distracting.

I bought the game because I had the Wii Sport version of it and we had played it so much that I wanted a different golf course.
The Wii "I love golf" was not what I expected, but my grandkids have had fun with it.
If anyone knows of a Wii golf game that is similar to the Wii Sports version, please let me know.I don't want anything fancy, just a different course.
I already tried the Wii Tiger Woods. It was too complicated. Didn't like it.

This game is not as good as I thought it would be, by far. It is very difficult to get the remote to respond thus causing you to mess up a lot o nthe hits. Putting is miserable. I would not recomend this game.

I bought this and don't like it only 1 course to play. thought there was more course to play. game is not consistant some times the shots go where you aim others don't.its easy to play yet are you really playing I don't think so it seems that the game is playing not you as the player.

Not as exciting as i had hope. I was disappointed in the game. It was not as stimulating as I had hoped. It is an ok game to play but not as much fun as it looks like it is going to be.

Lots of fun for my youngest 7 yrs to my oldest 14 even the parents like it. Good graphics and lots of options.

I bought this game because my husband is a golfer and I've played the Golf game on WII Sports with him--not very well but at least I can hit the ball fairly well with the preset club options. WII Love Golf, however, is much more complicated, requiring knowledge of which club to use in different situations, proper swing technique, etc. An avid Golfer will probably enjoy this. Kids and those who know little to nothing of the game will not enjoy this video game version.

When I first got this game I was sure confused as to how to control the necessary moves required so as to distance and what club was what. Then I learned that the Greens were marked with flowing arrows, this confused me then and still confused me to date. I have unlocked most of the game MI included in the game. This was fun to unlock a new person, and then learn how to unlock the special outfits for them. The Ring course if quite hard, or was for me. I have succeeded in completeting it, after sever months. The course's, after unlocking them all by finishing 1st is quite awarding also. There is so much to talk about on this game. I can only stress that anyone who loves golf, will go out and purchase this or buy here at e-bay.

This game is really fun. The best feature is playing online with friends and family around the world. Grade A+ for this game. Thank you.

My son loves golf, and he loves any game with golf, it teachs him how to play and the cover and game is awesome. the price was great as well. If you want to learn how to golf then this game is for you.

I like it because it's a lot like real golf. However, my wife feels opposite
because it's a lot of work. The description is accurate on the product.

We have a lot of fun playing this game, especially when the Mii characters throw a fit, LOL! One tip, turn off the Wii Remote voice in the game or she will annoy you with her constant chatter!

Intended for a ten year old, seemed a bit too young for him, but he enjoys playing it anyway! Good for a younger gamer.

It's not the typical Wii game with the little block characters and that alone should have warned me that this game was going to be a weak attempt at competing against some of the other consoles, now if that really was the intent, just get the Wii Sport and play the golf there you will be so much happier...

After playing the golf on the Sports disc this one takes some getting used to. I thought that since my family loved the golf on the Sports disc they would take to another version. So far not so good. With all of the vivid colors and graphics it is hard to determine what is going on. Maybe a bit of practice will make it better.

Fun for just fooling around but annoying sounds and lots of graphics to contend with on the screen.
Overall fun courses but the system seems to be golfing not you.

I liked the golf game that came with the Wii, so I decided to try this one. It is cute, but the screen is very busy.

It's probably worth spending some time to learn how to turn off the sound from the Wii-motes, because the incessant "point me down" is very distracting.

Definitely a game for the very young, but it has some nice features that keep it interesting.

I didn't dig the game as much as I thought. it had nothing to do with the seller, I just didn't like the game much.
