WOW!

WOW!

If you love just the most random stuff in the world and your friends tell you that you are very random then this game is for you. The object of this game is to collect as much stuff that you can by rolling your little ball over it.

So addicting!!!!!!

I would recomend buying it and I would also recomend renting it as well!!!!!

 PS2 Game: We Love Katamari!

Katamari Damacy is back with all its rolling fun.

This game opens up a new world of Katamari in which there is no real plot; this time you're just rolling because you can! Still addicting as always, the game is pretty easy to comprehend, following the same rules that were in the first Katamari Damacy. Since there is no plot you're not trying to reinvent the universe so you just travel around Earth and carry out the bidding of Humans (which of course involves rolling up things from lightning bugs to fire).

We Love Katamari allows you to choose your character. You can be the all famous prince or if you don't like green you can choose one of the prince's cousins. Roll up more cousins to give yourself more variety and of course the more you roll the more levels you unlock. The game is pretty basic and easy to progress through. You can even choose what song you'll be rolling to before you enter into the level. And of course the game has the double player mode where you can go head to head with another player.

The downside to this game is that even though it's addicting, after you've unlocked all the levels it is incredibly boring. With no plot you're just forced to walk over the Earth and wait for people to call on you to do the same thing over and over again. Even if you satisfy them to pass the level you will find yourself STILL having to go back to redo levels just because if you don't they will annoy you to death.

Still, the addictivity (is that even a word?) of Katamari will draw in old fans but I would not recommend it for anyone that has not played the original Katamari Damacy. Great game, good music, wonderful characters, and no plot - that's what you'll be getting with We Love Katamari.

Wow - this game is just too much fun! Even my 4 year old niece loved trying to play this game. It's colorful, imaginative and just chuck full of wackiness! My niece really loved the soundtrack too - she couldn't stop shaking her little booty!

About the game: if you have ever wondered what it might like to be the creator of the heavens and earth - this is the game for you! You are the prince trying to rebuild the cosmos with the help of his cousins (which are all playable characters once you have rolled them up). The point of the game is to roll everything (animals, food, people and even eventually building and the sky!) into a ball to recreate the cosmos. You also get to roll up gifts from your "fans" - the requesters of the particular katamari you are rolling. Some Katamaris take minutes (2-30), while others in advanced levels can take you days (specifically speaking about the rose katamari where you have to roll up something like 10,000 roses). I have been known to place on object on my game pad (so it rolls by itself) just so I didn't have to sit there gathering all the roses, but I still have not reached the goal yet.

At first, I didn't really like this game. I found it a little difficult to maneuver the katamari (the ball). You have to use both joysticks on the game pad in order to direct the katamari. But also, I am not very coordinated. But, practice makes perfect!

Once I started to get the feel and have better control of the katamari - I started to love this game. You can roll up everything. It's extremely fascinating to see where the game will take you next. And again the music is really catchy!

This game will provide hours of challenging fun! My favorite is the one where you have to roll up the gingerbread house and candy flowers. There are numerous themes - anything from a race track, to just rolling up the skies, underwater, fighting a sumo wrester (you have to roll until you are bigger than him), rolling up fireflies to help a student read and even one that you have to keep a fire going (which is pretty hard - you have to be fast). I play everynight now and still this game never ceases to amaze me. I doubt I will be playing any other game for some time.

PS. the soundtrack is awesome.

 Katamari addict

I bought this game after conquering the first Katamari. I've never been a big gamer-- I'm a mom in my 30s-- but the video store guy recommended Katamari as a first game for my 5 year old. Well, I played it too, and got hooked. The whole family did. The game is simple: you roll a ball around and pick up objects. At first, you can only pick up tiny objects. Slowly the ball grows and becomes enormous enough to pick up buildings and giant octopi.
This game is much more involved than the first. After you succeed on a level, there is a possiblity of going back and doing a better job. It begins with a field of fans, or different characters. If they want you to play their game, they call out to you. As you conquer each level, a new fan appears. You can also play different "cousins" or princes and play with another player (the only catch is you have to roll the katamari at the same time, in the same direction).
The settings are great. At one point, you're rolling up the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall, then you get over to the States and roll up the Hollywood sign. There are many funny details, such as a character making a copy of himself, or seeing yourself projected onto a TV screen in a storefront.
The graphics and music are great, too. All of these elements add up for a fun time.

My roomate showed me this game after a night of drinking and I wanted it badly, but no one carried it. In fact, Blockbuster duped me and sold me the first one when I told them I wanted the second. After I returned it, I hunted but found it only on ebay and found it about five or ten dollars cheaper than I would have gotten it if I'd bought it in a store. The delivery took the full amount of time, but I have it now and enjoy playing it, drunk or sober. Thank you ebay and PayPal!

Same concept as the first; you must collect "stuff" from Earth because "Earth is full of things."
This game is wonderfully addicting. It also quickly becomes a spectator sport. Even people who aren't playing will sit and watch and point things out "Can you pick up the dog yet?" It is fun for all involved, even spectators!

i love this game. its simple, and fun. there really isnt much of a story but that is ok, because in the first one, katamari damacy, there was all the story anyone needed, this one is basically because everyone loved the series. i will never get tired of rolling up everything, its just too much fun, and with these added challenges, like rolling up a katamari that is on fire and must be kept on fire by rolling up things that are flammable, or a sumo wrestler that wants to be bigger to challenge the bigger sumo wrestler. this is an amazing game, perfect for either a collector; since it is starting to get kinda rare, or for someone just looking to play a good pick up and play game, this will fill the void.

"We Love Katamari" is an extremely addictive, although strange, video game. This game, while simple, is very acessible to players of any age. In addition, there is an interesting backstory to the game and a catchy soundtrack. If you don't like violent video games, the worst you have to worry about is getting shot by lasers, but you don't have to worry about your character disappearing. You don't even have to play the levels in a specific order. Overall, this game is great because it's designed so that you can play for 10 minutes or 10 hours without stopping at an awkward point in game play.

A Great Followup to Katamari Damacy
Review created: 02/09/07

This is a great followup to Katamari Damacy. For those of you who, like myself, completed all of the available levels, achieved the three available Eternal levels, and otherwise sucked every bit of goodness out of Katamari Damacy that you could, this is where you need to look to next. The King is back, more full of himself then ever! The prince is ready to roll some new Katamaris with the help of his cousins (who are all playable characters!). You will find the same odd wit and inspiring creativity in We ♥ Katamari (if you can get your hands on a copy). I would highly recommend it for those who enjoyed the original.

I was expecting a little more from the sequel to one of my favorite games. I could not stop playing katamari damacy, but We love katamari does not evoke the same feelings. The game play is very simular, and there are far more levels. The movie scenes are also much sillier. I would not pay full price again.

You gotta love a game that looks like the creators did a mountain of shrooms when they designed it. This game is great the first was one of the most hilarious titles I've ever seen. And the sequel is even better more missions, more head to head action, more strage gifts, and more of that carazy King of All Cosmos(without the rediculously large codpiece). Get it, get hooked, and laugh yourself to death!

A better version of the previous game
Review created: 06/09/06

If you've had enough KD from playing the first version, then you might want to skip this. But if you can't get enough, then this is a must have! Its the gameplay of the first game but refined and expanded upon. Objectives vary from not only making the katamari as big as possible, but also collecting specific types of objects, keeping you're katamari "alive" like when rolling a big flame ball to prevent it from fizzling out, and collecting a specific amount of objects within a time limit. Some levels have no time limit and are there purely for enjoying the scenery, such as the snowman level.

 OMG BUY THIS
Review created: 05/03/09
by:

Whenever I'm having a bad day, I like to come home, kick off my shoes, and play me some Katamari. For those who are familiar with the first game, Katamari Damacy, the goal is essentially the same: roll up as much stuff as you can in the smallest amount of time so your crazy daddy, the ever-creepy/awesome King of All Cosmos, can set it no fire and turn it into a star that he knocked out of the sky. (Or, in WLK's case, planets.) Katamari Damacy was an extremely fun game whose only shortcomings were its extremely short finishing time, (I was done in about two hours, but replay value is priceless. :D ) and it has a tendency to make your eyes feel like they're on fire after playing for a few hours. But that's because apparently I don't blink while playing Katamari...

Well, with We Love Katamari, the latter problem has not been fixed, (in fact, I think it's gotten worse...) but the lovely people at NAMCO have made full completion of your Cosmos more, let's say, ENGAGING. In actuality, it's gotten harder. Not only are there more missions, but they actually require skill to complete. In KD, it was fairly easy to finish your star-making missions. It's not anything to do with the controls, as they fairly remained intact. It has more to do with the charge-and-roll mechanism. In WLK, charging your katamari has become easier, but it's basically required in some missions for you to finish on time. (If you don't, the King of All Cosmos, with his giant Bulge of Doom, will zap you with laser beams from his eyes while little Earthlings mock you. I've had plenty of experience with this from the d***ed campfire stage...)

All in all, this game is a must-have. Combining the easy-to-learn controls, the challenging gameplay, and the screams of thousands of innocent people as you roll them up, and you're all set for one heck of a party. I also hear that the co-op mode is a blast, if not frustrating, as you and a friend team up to roll a katamari together. However, I have not had the opportunity to try it yet, so I can't say.

Just don't forget your eyedrops, and always remember to blink.
