This Way [ECD] by Jewel (CD, Nov-2001, Atlantic USA)

Some people dislike this CD because it is too "poppy", but I think it's a great fit for her! The song are well-written and catchy, and appeal to a variety of musical tastes. The lyrics are meaningful and socially conscious. Jewel is a great artist, and she should be proud of this CD. I definately recommend it!

this cd is true jewel, I'm a big fan and was thrilled to add this to my collection, Jewel once again goes from the soul and doesn't hold back, another great album from one of the greatest female singer/songwriters of our time

I would consider this album to still be Jewel's brand of folk-pop, rather than full-on POP. The difference is that Jewel's lyrics are intelligent, meaningful, and well-written. There aren't many electronic or synthetic instruments used in production. One bonus is that Jewel writes ALL HER OWN MUSIC and performs it as it was meant to be. I believe this makes it even more honest and beautiful. Jewel performs any song perfectly with just a guitar....in fact, she doesn't even NEED a guitar. Her voice is crystalline and pitch perfect. This album has some rockin' songs that'll get your toes tappin' and other ballads that will make you cry. I think this is a great album.....5 stars out of 5 I think. (The person who wrote the above review has no idea what they're talking about...)

Wow! Another side of Jewel I dont think most of us anticipated. No matter what she sings, she sings from the heart! I love all her music and find most of it very meditational and relaxing. This CD is a little more of the inner personality of Jewel. It's more pop.... a little more funk, you go girl.....

Except for her last ablum this year, Jewel has no talent at singing. Maybe the "country" in her will bring her back. Have never understood how she got where she got with such bad singing. She would have been cut from American Idol at first performance.

Less Folk = Less Jewel. This Way is still a good album but it's a little too polished and pretend. Jewel is a folk singer...not a pop/rock star. That said, this CD is a must own for serious Jewel fans. 3 1/2 Stars.

We received it in a timely manner and the merchandise was good. I like it and will be happy to use this service again.
