Wave Race: Blue Storm (Game Cube, 2001)

Got the Game very quickly and in great shape! My 11 yr. old son loves it!! He's still trying to figure out all the tricks, but he's crazy about it! Thanks!

I bought this game because I don't have very many GameCube games and was interested in some new ones. It was pretty cheap and I wanted it soon so I used the Buy It Now option and it was delivered shortly thereafter.

Pros: It's definately a different kind of racing game. Not only are you trying to beat your opponents, but you have to constantly weave in an out of marked buoys.

Cons: The first thing I noticed while playing the game is that it's INCREDIBLY hard to control. Sometimes, moving the stick 25% will turn you 360 degrees, while other times pushing the stick all the way to the side will barely turn you at all. The waves on the water make it impossible to steer at all. There's about 50 different combos to learn if you want to do well in the stunt arenas, providing you can even aim yourself onto the ramp at all. The "Easy" difficulty on the racing circuit is relentless. It took several days of attempts to advance to the next stage because I couldn't even get a qualifying position on the first couple of races. The audio/music is horrible, the pit boss's (talking to you over the microphone) do nothing but taunt you and yell at you for pathetic driving, and there's only 4 circuits that you can race on the whole game, whether you're competing or freestyling.

I think I ended up paying $13 or so for this game with shipping included, and I feel like it's not worth $5 with shipping. Not a stab at the seller, but if you're thinking of buying this, don't pay more than $5 for it (it is worth the $5!)

I don't like it, my wife doesn't like it, my gaming buddies don't like it.

Overall, I would not recommend this game for anyone, even if you're trying to find something new.

The game is a blast to play, the graphics are awesome. The players and equipment are very realistic and the racing is also. Purchased the game for my 5 year old he really enjoys playing it.

Great Game! It is quite addicting and I do not even like racing games very much.. The Graphics are wodnerful, the gameplay immersive and it is challenging yet rewarding! One thing I must complain, however, is the fact that the control stick (left) will surely give you a blister on your thumb after a couple of hours of play time! yes, you will get a blister If you do all the tricks right! A++

This game is easy to jump right into and start racing. I was a fan of Wave Race for N64 and this game matches my expectations for the gamecube. Truly a fun game to get lost in for hours.

I found this game hard to play and not nearly as much fun as I thought it would be. The graphics are not that great and the control of wave runners is not very good.

Wave Race is a very fun game that will keep you entertained for hours. Wave Race's groundbreaking graphics blew me away when it game out a couple of years ago. The realism of the waves, the dolphins jumping around me, and the splash of water as it hit the camera are all very clear, crisp, and very entertaining. The downside of waverace is its lack of cusuzamation. I hate having to go on the left and right side of the buoys is very frustrating. There is the occasional glitch but that happens. Free ride is the most fun and if there was only a free ride 2 or 4 players as opposed to just one this would get 5 stars. Overall a good game for gamecube.

I had played the original for the nintendo 64, and I enjoyed it. I haven't been able to play much of this one but I think I will enjoy it just the same.

Not a gamer, novice who doesn't like violent stuff. This game is FUN! Graphics are cool, you can increase difficulty if you want, or you can just cruise around & try stunts. Something for everyone, multi player too. Love it!

gameplay, graphics and all that jazz was 10 times better on the N64 version.
I'll probably not play this game 10 minutes.
