Synopsis The family of fence Arnie Albright thinks that a Club Med vacation might add some polish to his practically nonexistent manners. While that laudable aim remains unfulfilled, the Caribbean idyll does allow Arnie to make the acquaintance of Preston Fairweather, a wealthy but equally obnoxious man who's been hiding out at the resort to avoid litigation from his many ex-wives. This state of affairs leaves Fairweather's expensively furnished and poorly secured New York penthouse essentially vacant. After Arnie suggests robbing the apartment, master thief John Dortmunder and his usual associates put the caper together, inconvenienced by the fact that their usual meeting spot, the back room of the O.J. Bar and Grill, has been taken over by the mob. This is the 12th side-splitting entry in the Dortmunder series.
