The Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics by Gopa B. Green (2004, Paperback, Spiral)

Excellent book for beginning physicians - includes everything necessary on long call nights. I would recommend this as a necessity in any intern's white coat. The chapters are relatively short but contain brief summaries of the illness as well as detailed instructions on medical therapeutics, something most review books lack.

I used this as a medical student at W.U. 50 years ageo. In fact it was while I was a student that the manuel got started. The chief resident in medicine taught the students about the uses of medicines in different diseases each year.
Finally he start writing it down and students has a much thinner manual (than now)to use. This gives one a very compact uptodate description of disease process and how to treat them.

Its an awesome book especially for the interns and residents. it is so concise and yet it covers IM so extensively. I simply love this book and as a resident I cant live without this book .
