A Venerable & succinct clinical medicine book
Pragmatic clinicians of all ages, who tend the the medical needs of adult patients, regard this book's succinct presentation of disease process' symptoms, physical findings, physiopathology, work-up and therapeutic options. It leaves the esoterica to Harrison's or Cecil's (both excellent medical text books). I keep my Washington Manual ever-at-the-ready for the hectic fray of the clinic. I leave my ~2Kg Harrison's at home for more reflective study, at a more leisurely pace.
*I recommend the Washington Manual for all clinicians of adult medicine*
