The Warriors (DVD, 2005, Director's Cut/Widescreen)

The Movie is a classic. No I'm not in a gang or do I approve of gang activity but this is just an excellent movie. It has a good story to it and the actors are excellent. Putting the Lizzies in the movie was very good casting also.

Urban lawlessness of New York City street gangs is the theme of Walter Hill's violent and influential drama. When a powerful gang leader is shot during a meeting between all of the city's gangs, the blame is pinned on a Brooklyn clan known as the Warriors. Now members of this small bunch face a night of terror, as they try to return to Coney Island with an army of thugs hot on their trail. It's a long subway ride from the Bronx to Brooklyn, and anything can happen!

This movie goes into great detail how gangs interact with each other in a big city. The Skaters, the Bombers, The Orphans plus all the other gangs, that The Warriors encounter after a misunderstanding takes place, are all in gang colors and clothing showing their unity to their own.

If you have played the warriors game, the movie is exactly like the game....Very good! Action packed,fast pace and gangs everywhere you look. I decided to buy the movie since the game was sooo good and hey what do you know...the movie is "off the hook". If you don't have it, what are you waiting for? go out and get it as you won't be disappointed ;)

I've always been a HUGE fan of the film THE WARRIORS! Ever since seeing it at my local drive-in back in the day of the films original release-1979.I had heard that Walter Hill had re-worked the film,THE WARRIORS,the way HE originally intended for the film to be shown.Couldn't wait to see what was left out of the original version of the AMAZING film classic!

I found the directors cut on DVD sometime back at a local flea market.Paid very little for it.Three or four dollars i believe.Couldn't wait to watch it when i got home!

I loved the original theatrical release of THE WARRIORS! But,seeing this directors cut,i had wished Walter Hill had left the film the way it was originally shown in theatres.

The directors cut is too cartoony! Almost like a comic book,each segment turning like a page from a comic book.Live action turns into still action-animated.It kind of takes away from the fast pace of this film.Perfection should ALWAYS be left alone.If it ain't broke,DON'T fix it!

Walter Hill is one of the most gifted directors in Hollywood! He's been around for years,and knows what he's doing.But,Mr.Hill,you must know how much of a cult following your film,THE WARRIORS has and how beloved this film is to its fans.ANY film as well made as this one,should have been left ALONE!

If you want to buy this film,buy the original theatrical version of this film.If you're curious about the directors cut,rent it first!

I loved the product but it seemed to take a little while to receive. I am very satsified with the dvd and I would order from them again in the near future.

Been looking for this movie for a long time and this was the directors cut which I never had seen. Awesome the seller was great and the transaction was perfect. I grew up with this movie and it has a great cult following.. anyone who has not seen this movie should take the time and watch it. The comic book style of the director's cut was really neat. when I went and saw this at the theater it was not like that. They should re-release it......Thanks Rodney

Warriors is a cult classic. It's one of those movies you would watch again and again. There is a gritty edge that makes you believe in the characters and want to see the Warriors home safe! The cast is great looking, which is always a bonus! If this movie isn't in your collection-you are missing out!

I wanted the movie The Warrior's, Simply because I love that movie and because it's a classic! the DVD special features are pretty good too because you get to see them now like 27 years later.I could not find that movie in any store in my home city and i wanted it ,so I saw it on Ebay and decided I wanted it.It's a good movie really for any age unless your like 5 or something then i don't know, but regardless it is and always will be A CLASSIC!

For a movie that old (1979), it sure is a masterpiece!

The main plot, even tough it's pretty basic, is quite original and contains enough twists to keep anyone wondering where all this is going to lead.

The actors are OK, but actually I don't see how they could have been better, because this is an action oriented movie after all!

The best part is the originality of the diffent gang's costumes. Sure, most of them look kind of "out of this world", but that's what makes them so cool.

The only flaw was the sound quality. The movie sure sounds like it was made a while ago (which seems inevitable!). But all the rest more than makes up for that.

For those who played the game, you'll feel right at home from the very beginning of the movie since most of the dialog from the game was actually taken straight from the movie. That's a pretty good thing and I must say I was amazed to see how the game's second half was exactly like the movie. It sure was interesting to see the real actors and everything.

Finally, I must say I loved that movie a lot, but I also admit I wouldn't have watched it had I not played the game before (even if I think it can still be enjoyed by people who haven't played it!)! But I actually liked it so much that I think it'd be a neat idea to make a "prequel" that covers the first half of the game, explaining how The Warriors got together.

After purchasing this dvd and watching it twice the same night, yes I had to watch it again, it's easy to see why this is a cult classic. While the acting isn't great, it's easily made up for by the film's story, setting and great background music.

The Warriors in there race back to the safety of Coney Island, after they are wrongly accused of murdering Syrus the leader of the biggest New York gang. Every gang member is on the lookout for the Warriors, will they all make it back...watch and find out!!

this is a movie i had seen as a child and something i waned to see again, so when i had the oppertunity to purchase this movie i did. it great to see then fight thier way back home.

The Warrriors is the most exciting movie of all time. From the time you start watching it until the time it ends, you are rivited to it no matter how many times you see it. I decided to buy it because this is a movie I want in my collection forever.

I saw this movie at the theaters with a bunch of friends before the hysteria and hype about gang activity gave it a bad rep. This movie is just fun to watch! The musical score (especially the ending song by Joe Walsh) fit the movie perfectly. The DVD extras made it even better for me because seeing several of the actors 25 years after the fact was interesting. I got to compare the aging process of actors($$) and regular peeps(me) and guess what? I came out ahead!!!!!

This is a fun movie to watch and I would recommend it to anybody. I wouldn't let your underage children view it due to the language. Hey! It's a movie about gangs!

What if Cyrus was not shot? The Warriors are falsely accused of killing a "union" rep for street gangs and are forced to fight all the way back to their home turf, Coney Island. This movie, often chilling, sometimes hilarious when you see gangs like the Orphans, makes youwonder what could have been had he not gotten shot. I love this movie!! It is violent and although I saw it as a kid with my parents in the theatre, it is not for the faint of heart or children that scare easily.

This movie has some great action and the music score really sets it off. If you like action then this one is the one you want. The only time you can really relax is in the beginning. It keeps you wondering what is going to happen to these guys next. Just when you think they have it made something else happens to them. Good story, good acting, good directing, good music, and great action.

i decided to buy this movie because it is a classic! very artistic and inspirational! I bought it for my boyfriend, he has not even seen it yet but i enjoyed it so much that i'm sure he will. He is an artist just like i am and i loved this movie. It is very different and strange but cool in a way. Very enjoyable, i loved it and i recommend it to any artist out there.

breat cult classic, has all the elements needed to make a good movie, great. action, suspence, drama and comedy make this a must own dvd sitting on the shelf next scarface and the godfather
