Synopsis Billy Port--Boston aristocrat, Annapolis grad, all-around cool guy--is the hero of this novel set in North China based on a legendary incident known as "Billy Port's Ride." It's 1941, and when Port is told to remove his troops from the area, he refuses to do so, and instead heads for the Gobi Desert. En route, hearing that Pearl Harbor has been bombed, Port and his men encounter bandits, warlords, and the Japanese army.
