Excellent survey of majolica thru the years.

This book had numerous beautiful color plates which is how I judge a book on art, antiques and collectibles. It was in new condition. My only complaint is the shipping time. I bought this on ebay and a book on French Majolica (barbotine) within a couple of days of each other. This book took 2 more weeks to arrive. I do not know why. Lauren

Nothing more then a picture book.
Review created: 05/01/09

Nothing more then a picture book. No information on pieces, like date, company, and so on. Big waste of money, even at the $1.00 I bought it at.

It has very clear pictures. Great for someone just getting interested in collecting majolica. I would like to know more about marks, etc.

  Warman's Majolica - Mark F. Moran (2005)
Review created: 04/05/08

This is a BIG book. The pictures are large, with the detail and colors of the examples shown well. There is not a lot of extraneous baloney, just information that is helpful to the collector who is either trying to make heads or tails of their own pieces, or trying to research a piece they are interested in. Warman's Majolica is definitely a "must have" for any majolica collector/buyer/dealer. The only down-side to the book, is the price guide. Prices are purely regional, and extremely subject to economical factors, so, I believe they should not be taken too seriously. But the book is still a "must have"!

Outstanding photos. Detailed histories that are easy to read. A must for your antique reference shelf. Warmans and Mark Moran really pulls off a great one with this title.
