Warman's Gi Joe Field Guide by KP Books (2005, Paperback)

Warman's G.I. Joe Field Guide by Karen O'Brien is a great pocket guide to take with you to garage sales, flea markets, toy conventions, anywhere you might be searching for that elusive rare Joe you're wanting to add to your collection. This little guide contains color pictures of just about every G.I. Joe and G.I. Joe set made from the Sixties up through the Nineties, many with corresponding price valuations for Mint-in-Package specimens. It even contains pictures of clothing sets, vehicles and box covers. I'm a newbie Joe collector and this guide is an invaluable resource as I go about identifying items from the lots I've bought here on eBay. Since most of the lots are mixed and missing pieces here and there, I'm hoping to reconstruct some complete sets using this guide. If you're looking for an in-depth history of the creation and evolution of G.I. Joe through the years, you'll need to purchase one of the larger guides, like Vincent Santelmo's "The Complete Encyclopedia to GI Joe." But if you're looking for a concise, pocket-size book with a lot of pictures for reference, then this is a great guide to start out with!

Its a good reference book while shoping for GI Joe figures for most of the years in production. This book also helps with identifying older GI Joes that I was to young to even collect.

This Fild Guide has in small and compact.. fits in your parachute pant pocket just fine. Great illustrations that are broken down by decade, and even give you prices for each.. mostly MIP (mint in package. Keep in mind that prices fluctuate and this is a 2006 edition. Overall a real fun and user friendly hand book! This brought back a lot of memeories from my childhood in the 70's

IT IS A GOOD GUIDE FOR MATCHING PARTS AND WHATS IS SOLD TOGETHER.

In short, being informed and educated is everything. I bought this book for that reason and I know more now than I ever did. Every figure, uniform, accessory, from vintage 12"(my favs) to 3 3/4". Over 500 full color highly detailed pictures and captions.

The book is just what I wanted and the price was an outstanding deal. I hope to buy books from this seller again.

The pictures are nice The price list only shows M.I.B. ,I was hopping it showed all prices in all conditions. Slightley disapointed. Thank you Shawn Curry.

I bought this guide based on price and content. I thought it would detail all GI Joe equipment in detail however I found the photos to be general and small I could make out no details. Also not very much product is covered. This is a far from complete guide. For a beginner it is a small price for some good insight as to what was produced in GI Joe line of figures.

Great value gi joe book, a lot of photos and illustrations makes your appraisals very handy ans easy.

The book is a wonderful quick reference book. It could have more information, but then it would not be as small as it is. I've seen the book offered for more at other dealers this price was nice. I recomend this book for Flea Market Visitors.

Although the book had some usefull information in it, the layout was very poor. There was no table of contents beyond a very basic chapt 1 etc. and finding specific items was very difficult and the only way to find it was page by page. The information was also spotty. Some items had information, others were just a picture with a caption of what it was.

The reason I bought it was to find information that would allow me to identify the items I already had and what items I needed to complete a set.

The beginning of the book wasn't bad. The identification of the head types, product stamps, and years of some figures was good.

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough information in it to allow me to learn what I already had and what I needed. I don't think I would recommend the book to someone with the same questions I had. Simply adding a decent table of contents would improve it immensley. Currently, it is the only book I have found on the subject. It could be a good book if addtions were made.
