Exceptional Photographs of 100s of Fenton Pieces

Let me start by saying that while I admire glass, I don't collect it. As a trading assistant, I was approached by friends I made going to live auctions to help them begin to sell their collection. They're great guides to recognizing what is Fenton and what is not but naming and dating pieces are things I've had to learn on my own. I needed help. I searched the guides on this site and I acquired a few books. This book is one of those.
This is not the complete compendium and price book of everything Fenton ever made. That said, it is an excellent reference for the beginning collector or the neophyte Fenton eBay seller. In this book, Fenton production is broken down by period - blocks of years - to include a carnival glass period rather than by type of piece or color or item number. This is a heavy and high gloss paged book that contains many hundreds of full color photos of Fenton pieces. You will get a good idea of the styles and colors of items that were available in a particular period and their value on the collectibles market (bearing in mind that the book was printed in 2004 and pricing fluctuates rapidly).
The book does not cover pieces made by Fenton and marked Fenton that were actually for other companies (like Levay), and it only briefly addresses experimental pieces as far as shape/style. It does not even mention styles that were from regular production runs but in experimental colors (as I found out the hard way!). Finally, the index is totally useless for looking up a particular piece and its value unless you already know the name and/or the item number.
Get this book if you are in need of a detailed, full color pictorial reference as a guide for what is what. Don't get it if you need a quick method to determine age and/or value.
