Great book for beginning Beanie Baby Collector's!!!

We have gone through a book and tattered it almost to shreds when going Beanie Baby shopping at antique stores, garage sales, auctions, and gift shops, so we had to get a second one.

This book helped us identify dozens of Beanie Babies and get an idea of the ones which are more valuable. It also helped answer a lot of confusion we had about the hang and tush tag identification.

Since Beanie Babies are technically not quite as collectible as they once were, the values are somewhat misleading, but the descriptions and other helpful information regarding tags and generations were a HUGE help to us.

The book focuses mostly on Ty Beanie Babies, but also has a few others, such as Classic Collecticritters, Coca-Cola Bean Bag Plush, Disney, Grateful Dead, Harley-Davidson, Puffkins, and more.

And last but not least, it contains general information on how to sell and buy on ebay!

If you are just starting out collecting and are not familiar with the names and generations of pre-2003 Ty Beanie Babies, this book will be a huge help!

The book does not have the international Beanie Babies that have recently been so popular, but has those made up through about 2003. It has enough to keep a person scrambling for the very rare and hard to find Royal Blue Peanut or 10th generation signed Frankenteddy!

Thank you for taking the time to read this guide, and we hope it helps you determine whether it is right for you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Skywalker_track

Warman's Bean Plush Field Guide by Dan Brownell (2004)

I bought this guide to help me with the pricing of my beanie babies if I decide to sell them. The guide does give me some direction and possiblities of where to start. It gives approximate values for each beanie according to year made and condition of beanie. It also tells you how to use initials on your listing so consumers will know the conditon of each one. (ie. NWT means New with tag). I think this guide will be useful to me in the long run.

We looked up every beanie baby we had and found out we have no million dollar baby anywhere. It was very effective at deciphering all the ins and outs of the beanies. We bought it because we were hoping we had one that was worth a mint. It was a fun family event, I'm talking about teenagers even, everybody gathered up all their beanies and we one at a time looked them all up hoping one of us had that prize. It was fun and worth it.

Warman's Bean Plush Field Guide By Dan Brownell

I like the fact that this guide is small and easy to carry. I love the fact
that it has recent and retired market values for a variety of the Ty Beanie line. There is not anything that I don't like about this publication.

I decided to buy it for the reason's listed above and I didn't have a clue at the time about the Ty Beanie line. I accquired about 1,000 of these little guys as a gift. It is a great educational tool.

  Warmans Bean Plush Field Guide
Review created: 10/05/06

I was really disappointed in this pocket guide. Very few of the animals of any kind are in it. I thought it would cover all of Ty's products along with pictures. ie. Plush, Attics, Beanies and the like. It only touch on each subject and if you are looking for a book to give you pictures for a treasure hunt of products without hang tags for identification....well....this is not the book for you. Better off to get Checkerbees books on TY. Way more useful and informative.
